Fuel Dumping

Well despite it not being historical. it would be nice. At least in terms of Cinematics. Since you do tend to see this kind of thing being done likely with the cooling/water at aircraft reenactments where it seems like its leaking fuel or water in the scene. So it would be nice from every aspect.

I think it should be added only for aircrafts that have it irl. Also for a graphical reason, only aircrafts with a modelled fuel dumping nozzle would have the “source” from where the fuel itself comes from

Would love to see the F-111 do this

+1 from me
f111 flame would be quite cool

I feel I have seen this thread before somewhere.

I proposed the idea in a discussion some time ago to get people’s opinions in general, and since no suggestions had been made I did it

Definetly need this for the harriers. You can’t VTOL land above a certain fuel load on a carrier

Yes it would be quite useful for Harriers, however I imagine that WW2 bomber pilots would also be happy to fly their planes with a quantity of fuel corresponding to the duration of their flight and not several hours

Yes, though it depends on what limits Gaijin imposes for such a mechanic. I could see them only allowing you to drop down to your minimum fuel or something and not infinitely drop down

This is a great idea, which sadly won’t be implemented cause it would make American prop fighters actually competent.

The American prop fighters are not equipped with this capacity to my knowledge, it would not be to their advantage

I am curious whether helicopters can achieve this. Z10 is struggling with exceeding its minimum fuel level for over an hour, and most helicopters cannot use up the half hour fuel given to them by GAIJIN

Nope.

Gaijin when? theres so many aircraft where the minimum fuel is so much more than the required flight time where its sometimes comical. 1-2 hour minimum fuel aircraft should get it at least.

what fuel dumping do? how it will perfom in game? is it like a flamethrower than can kill enemies behind you?

It might do damage to aircraft behind at close range, but it might also be purely aesthetic.

The more beneficial aspect is the ability to ditch unneeded fuel. We will have to wait and see what the minimums are set to, but even if they can drop down to minimum fuel, this means you can run more than is needed and dump fuel when you enter a fight to gain an advantage.

Also for aircraft like the Harrier, they need to be below a certain weight to enter the hover which is needed for VTOL carrier landing in SB. Even landing a normal aircraft can be hairy with too much fuel.

Yes for the Harriers it will be useful but I think the aircraft that will benefit the most will be the World War II bombers, being able to drop half or three-quarters of the fuel that is useless to them will make them much more pleasant to fly.

Unless they make it so that you can only dump down to minimum fuel. We’ll have to wait and see what they do

Very few aircraft could/should be able to ignite dumped fuel. The Aardvarks being one of the few exceptions.
Designers specifically intended for there to NOT be a fire hazard from where they place the plumbing, and jet fuel especially isn’t going to catch fire just because you shoot a tracer thru the plume.
Another one of those “devs had time for this instead of fixing other problems”.
