They don’t really have a speed advantage, and if they go for altitude they’ll just eat missiles. Especially since Germany and China also have R-27ERs, not just Russia, and you dont have all three on the same team most of the time.
lets be real, anyone who gets hit by R-27s shot from 40km was either tabbed out of the game, afk, or didnt touch their keyboard and mouse for a minute, and then they deserve to die.
People are yapping about them ALWAYS and EVERYWHERE. there’s barely any post vaguely related to top tier air combat that doesn’t have people yapping about R-27s.
What I’m saying is that most people won’t consider that those advantages don’t mean alot in the grand scheme of things. Especially when coupled with the fact that the russian radars aren’t up to par with their competitors at top tier.
Most people just look at stat cards or test flights instead of the actual gameplay.
Ok,… i mean that’s your PoV,… i do not agree with it, but it’s still your PoV.
Not gonna argue further, since a lot of things you said are either wrong(R-27ER at 40km still keeps way more energy than every other missile do, that’s because they still have more range overall)
Or coming from based commentary, of a community that is far from being as good as it was,… (let alone the fact that people with 0.4KD cries to have a F-15A at 12.0, because i quote “FM is similar to F-16A at 12.0, so it should be 12.0”) …
Let’s say that we both disagree to each other will be faster, and will keep me from harming myself, and the same you can say for yourself.
R-27ER at 40km gives you a LONG time of radar warning in your ear to do something about it. if you ignore that and fly straight into an R-27ER, that’s a skill issue.
Well yeah, reason #1 why R-27ER is good. Alot of people that just sit there and take it at longer range. But that isn’t the missile’s fault, and not a balancing problem imo.
I just never got why people think R-27ER is the be-all-end-all of toptier when they often shoot at people that behave similar to AI targets. It is undebatebly the best radar missile currently. The difference imo is just not big enough to be a huge advantage against people who know what they’re doing.
Almost double the thrust, 10 extra G, actually having datalink, and a 1.75 Mach difference in speed (from the second-best SARH, the AIM-9F/M) isn’t that big of an advantage?
I mean when I receive a launch warning I start notching
There for at the distance that I am I know the missile lost lock when I reengage
It’s not hard to fight r27 the issue is how easily it can re aquire on target because of data link
As long as make it to the merge and make sure you jam the WEZ (weapon engagement zone) that r27 will be useless in a dogfight
Now the fighting the r73 is another topic
What do you mean? The R73 is arguably the easiest IRCCM missile to flare. Considering that most players using Russian planes are extremely reliant on using their missiles for kills, reversals on these players are trivial despite their kit.
Not if you can still defeat it just the same with flying close to the ground, or a notch/chaff combo. Which is usually easier than notching an AIM-7 bc the planes carrying them usually have better radars.
Yes, it reaches quicker. It usually doesn’t change the outcome though. The extra G is nice but there are few situations where you actually need them bc AIM-7s reach most targets just fine.
1.75M difference? Where, at 10km altitude? Certainly not near the deck, where most planes are for 90% of the game. R-27s are also bigger with more mass and drag, both counteracting the thrust advantage.
not sure if the C could get bol and as you yourself say the J35J didnt have CMs
i would say that the C at 11.3 with 9L would do fine so no bol needed
the J35J at 10.7 without CM but with RB 27 (radar guided aim-4 falcon with proxy fuse) would do fine but wouldnt be the best
