Not to mention that the whole cupola might have just got clean ripped off from the tank, depending on the round.
Some damage should just be “sever” leading to a destroyed vehicle instead of a fully functioning tank by the time the other tank was able to shoot once or twice.
PzGr 39 on the Panzer IV and PzGr 39/42 on the Panther have around 28g of explosive equivalent, these changes might as well almost make the shells solid AP if they were passed, kind of funny.
So if the vote for change fails, and the spherical damage model remains… then APHE receives a BIG BUFF to damage due to the improvements they are adding that we do NOT get to vote on.
Madness. Complete madness.
If the change fails to happen the game will be even more bias in favour of APHE.
Their APCBC is APHE. The HE component is just ommited from the name, but the rounds have explosive filler and fuses that make the round explode inside enemy tanks.
You are absolutely right. The key to this problem is the extreme imbalance of deaths between the APHE and all other ammunition, but I think that rebalancing the APHE would be ``for now’’ the best, because think, gaijin has needed 10 years to at least make a vote for the APHE issue, something that in the first year you already realize is not right, well imagine how long it would take to do something that affects the game more, for example, notice how gaijin has not said anything about their penetration formula, which is shitty garbage, but they are not going to change it.

The Tiger has a round, Pzgr, that overpressures. It has lower pen than the other round that doesn’t.
Panthers can’t, Tiger II can’t, PZ IVs can’t.
With this change to APHE behavior? You’d be surviving a good bit more punishment from them.
