Wow Legwolf you are a legend, I do have to say though I think no change is coming for Britain because with the most recent patch (2.29.0.35) some fella made a bug report on the 279 about its armour, this was without any source and was just saying it based on physics (like many have tried with the TES extra 5 tons or whatever it is), it got fixed within two days. You would think being a top tier rank for a nation and being the one thing people work towards would be a priority rather than a rare tank getting fixed. Alas no, so while you are doing gods work, I think it is futile in all honesty sadly.

Tornado F.3, Britains premier “fighter” forced to fight MiG-29SMTs and F-16Cs with garbage missiles and handling
Challenger 2, is horribly misrepresented (the frontal brick of Chobham has barely any protection, crew positions are wrong, ammo racks make no sense, TES era is laughable, the transmission and mobility is dogwater, the ammo detonates too often despite being in wet bins irl, the reload times are gimped, the UFP lacks proper armor, the LFP is likely also missing armor)
Britain has no A2A that fills the 9.X BRs
Stormer HVM is a buggy mess
No light tanks
British phantoms have no AIM-9L despite the fact everyone else at 11.3 does
Etc etc

Yep and its been the same for years now, Britain is not fun to play at all, Gaijin has had this strange vendetta against Britain for quite some time in, the past I have tried to get them to do something but they will do nothing,
I really enjoy the game and its a shame they do this because it pushes me away from playing what could be a really fun nation being the slow but heavily armoured at top tier.
Oh well, atleast this Object 279 getting fixed within a couple days proves the point that if a SOVIET vehicle has an issue and is posted about on the RUSSIAN bug reports every worker and their entire family tree in Gaijin will get up and make it the top priority fixing it!
Honestly super disheartening to have spent literal weeks working on these essay style bug reports to help improve the game, since that’s the standard for British Fixes. But some joe schmo comes along and says “its better irl” and its good enough for other nations.
Sucks.
I’ve been playing this game for 8 years now, possibly longer, and i’ve always leaned towards Britain because i’m British and I love the RAF and Royal Army. They’ve got some of the most aesthetically pleasing vehicles of any nation. But the way they’re implimented in the game is a travesty. Whoever worked on them must’ve just straight up made things up. Theres no justification otherwise but the standard isn’t “Evidence suggests it might be this” it’s “Prove i’m lying about this top secret tank without sharing classified documents”
For the CR2, this is a near impossible feat. The tank is cloaked heavily in secrecy and i’ve done tens of hours of research trying to find any suggestion of how Gaijin reached certain conclusions. No joy.
TES’ Side ERA? Name: “ERA”. Cool, so its a generic placeholder, despite there being several books stating what it is - ASPRO-HMT.
400mm CE and 30mm KE is an actual meme. 400mm isnt enough to stop an RPG-7. This is the tank that survived 70 consecutive hits from them btw with no crew or vital component loss. 70.
You’ll see the 400/30 figure floated alot. Its a placeholder. The original TES was given 1800mm of CE which is far more accurate. The 400/30 actually comes from a collosal misinterpretation of Rafaels Armor Shield R brochure. Which…isnt even the right ERA…

I’m hopeful when they mentioned that a top tier fighter for britain is coming this year, but…there’s so much more that needs working on.
Why don’t we see Tracked Rapier as our 9.X SPAA, or how about Stormer AD?
Why isn’t there any light tanks and anti tank cars in the nation that has relied on that strategy since ww2?
Why is it, that the Spey Phantoms dont get AIM-9Ls but the other 11.3 phantoms do?
Why doesn’t Tornado F.3 get its AIM-9Ms?
Why is Stormer HVM still without the Thales LMM or any kind of bug fixes?
Why is HESH so ineffective now?
Why is APDS so ineffective now?
Why no Blowpipe or Javelin SPAAs?
The list goes on, but they’ll likely just give us another South African car from WW2 and call it a day. If we’re lucky, maybe a copy-paste job and another Challenger 2 with the same problems as the others.

Hit the nail on the head there exactly. I just wish we would get some kind of response from them rather than just the devs are aware, is it too much to ask for an update or some kind of more detailed reasoning into why this has yet to be solved ever since the introduction of the TES (post nerf).
I get it not many people are going to play Britain, as why should they? It is not worth it in the slightest at the current state, so business wise prioritising a low player nation is not a good choice. Even if the protection is fixed, Britain still is a niche nation.
I really hope people at Gaijin can see the effort that you have put into this and the dedication we have had to the game and put the customer before money and focus on fixing the Challenger 2’s once and for all so this multi-year long discussion can finally end.
If anyone from Gaijin does read this thread please please please shed some light onto this situation we would greatly appreciate it as loyal customers.
It’s shocking it takes this long to get things fixed, the “minor” nations get so badly neglected it’s shocking. I genuinely do believe Gaijin doesn’t like Britain, it’s beyond a joke at this point.
The shoddy communication and responses we get on here and in the bug reporter are just as poor.
That’s literally why they treat armor reports as suggestions not bugs. Additionally a lot of nations are missing their WW2 cars just Britain. The Phantom as 11.3 with all-aspects is the Kurnass 2000, which was originally 11.7 until it lost access to Sparrows. If the Tornado got access to Aim-9M it would require its BR to increase.
Harrier GR.7 got AIM-9M and didn’t go up in BR.
The Spey phantoms should be getting AIM9Ls at the very least.
Tornado could absolutely get 9Ms and be just as reliably garbage as it is.
But…this is the Challenger 2 TES thread so not the place for that rabbit hole
