I am 100% agreeing with this.
Is anyone else feeling the pressure from the M1 release limit for some of the NATO weapons?
Unless you make radar stations sit with search radars on so we can actually engage from distance with ARMs, this timer needs to go.
Even if you do implement this, it should be cut down drastically if you’re going to insist on it.
Also SACLOS weapons should not be on the field with the current accuracy, given they only pop up on rwr once you’re close enough to engage, with strike platforms being too heavy to soundly evade the threat.
No quad rack GPS SDBs for UK top tier is really painful… Takes about half a minute to get all the SPICE bombs off the racks in the EF2K, by which point I’ve already been blown up 3x over and my saturation attack has been pointless
Really need a way to drop SPICE/GBU-53s etc by GPS only without having to go through the hassle of turning on the seeker each time etc
Comes a thought, with the introduction of nuclear thunder for toptier, is there any viability for the addition of MMW ordinance, which would be far too powerful for ground rb, to instead be added, and limited to use only in NT (and customs, and maybe air rb)? It would open up far more opportunities for the use of AG ordinance against convoys and stationary targets for aircraft with otherwise limited SEAD/DEAD capability.
It just came to mind playing the typhoon as spice 250s are… mediocre (their seeker is outranged by both sides’ SPAA as it stands) which relegates typhoon to either engaging stationary targets or using one brimstone at a time slowly (or hoping the two HARMs actually do anything), the latter two of which are almost guaranteed to be shot down or miss.
I believe this would be a good addition to balance out the overwhelming effectiveness of air defense without causing any damage to the already sketchy balance of ground rb. Would offer improved ground attack and saturation capability for almost every country in game.
A simple keybind for “Disable weapon seeker” would be quite useful for this. Effectively turning any IR+GNSS weapon into a pure GNSS weapon
The Anti-Nuclear Thunder aircraft

I genuinely believe adding better A/G ordinance (hell, maybe A/A ordinance too to avoid METEOR cross mapping in arb) which are locked to NT is the play.
Meteor cross mapping in ARB wouldn’t be a problem with ECM 🤷
Is anyone able to get tracks with Kh31PD on the crotales? Even with a clear ping on RWR and a launch, the missile will not pick up the emission in my experience.
They’re J band, which is out of band for your 31PDs (D-I)
Just kh38 them or something.
Neat, are they finally telling us the band coverage?
They are, excellent. That takes a lot of fiddliness out of it.
Do they activate the IR seeker when they get close enough?
With this proposed seeker toggle I would guess not, at least not at the moment until we get full LOAL
I’ve only had the opportunity to watch a friend play the current Nuclear Thunder, and I played a lot of it back in April myself, but some thoughts from me:
-
I like that there are a lot of targets, a large front-line, and I like that they’re difficult to engage. I think we should be very careful nerfing SAM/SPAA too much to where engaging them becomes menial.
-
I think it’s a good thing that different targets offer different challenges, and I think a lot of people get too hung up trying to spice250 everything. A moving convoy SPAA, an ammunition Depot, an outpost with several SPAA should be engaged with different munitions and I think that’s a great thing. We have a lot of tools in our arsenal, if we can’t get close enough to get a TRACK-lock with spice250/stormbreakers then maybe tossing some laser guided LJDAM’s or Brimstones is a better option.
-
Also the medium-to-long range SAM systems (BUK/HAWK/S300/Patriot) should in my opinion enforce a no fly zone, that’s literally the point of having such systems, and it’ll incentivise attacking those higher value targets so that you can free up more airspace for your team. Now maybe they should move a bit, but I think it’s fair that the medium ranged ones should protect the front-line and the longer ranged ones should protect the airfields and SAM sites.
-
The Nukes were too much. I’m very glad to see them nerfed and toned down a bit. I think their cost should further be increased a bit.
Now, where I think things needs to improve:
-
It’s great that they buffed (in April) the score rewards for doing SEAD/DEAD, however I feel like the SPAA would respawn too fast, we could barely break through the front-line with all the targets before they were back up again in the same spots. I think that destroying the tactical depot’s (which should be more protected) should have a bigger impact on the SPAA presence in that area. Sometimes it would feel like you destroyed ITO’s around one area for 30 minutes and it didn’t really make much of an impact. Definitely make them respawn eventually but nerf it a bit.
-
SPAA intercepting munitions got out of hand, I’m not all too familiar with every SPAA’s reload times and ammunition storages but having every single one of your munitions shot down in a lot of jets was just not a good experience, I definitely think it should be a thing but make it not 100% consistent (It seems some improvements have been made here, unsure how much though).
-
I really like the respawn timer. It was definitely an issue of 90% of the playerbase charging into each other in the center-furball over an over on basically suicide-missions to farm score, not as much of an issue anymore due to there not being an event to grind but I like that we’re encouraging more cautious and tactical behavior, it will be good for the game mode. Definitely tune the timers a bit though, but not too much.
@Smin1080p_WT Will the brackets only be 13.0-14.7 when this update drops or will the brackets from before be included as well?
Because the nuke plane is same one we use in top tier GRB, previously you removed the CCRP of it so nuke won’t be blocked randomly, please fix this, i would suggest just use normal TT version in this event
Having had this thought; no, it is not remotely worth the effort with the current state of them.
These need to be made more present, ARMs on the soviet side have little use with the midfield AA, and the minimal number more advanced air defences coupled with their general lack of potency make the weapon type not overly necessary to carry.
It feels better but still less than ideal.
Somehow the fun game mode was turned into total utter dogwater, the buk is just nonstop hellfire, whethrr youre behind a mountain, 30k feet up, on the furthest airfield, it doesnt care, it just nonstop fires on everything
Not even gonna mention how busted the SU30SM2 is, with literally every game ive been in just being SM2 vs everyone else, and the SM2 winning by miles. This events return is pretty dissapointing ngl, but also not suprised
