are you sure? because if yes it will be diabolical and a good addition, but as far i played i saw the t80 and M1 destroying the anti air on the ground

On the whole, seems like an attempt at going in the right direction, though only with mixed results.
Aircraft cooldown
By far THE most frustrating part of the mode. I appreciate it’s to stop suicide runs, however when we have no idea where SPAA and such are, it just feels unnecessarily punishing. This would likely be rectified by fixing the other problems, and I DO NOT think it should be removed outright.
Reduced spotting distance
Feels like a good change, in practice just ends up in getting bullied by omniscient AI.
AI
The AI SAMs especially feel like they’re missing a number of things:
- Reaction times (Ito immediately launches again at me after I drop an SDB)
- Reload times
- Situational awareness (i.e just feels magic atm)
Reduced nukes
Yes. Absolutely what was needed to make this more than just an april fools.
Seized vehicles(?)
Opposing side being able to use the vehicles of your side feels… wrong. RUSFOR likely couldn’t just hop into an Ito and be able to fire it just like a NATO crew and vice versa. Creates PID hell that I think has no place in the game, especially when the reduced spotting distance jacks everything up.
Loadouts
The inability to create secondary weapon loadouts whilst ingame feels like a HUGE gap in capabilities here. It already felt missing for air sim, now it feels even more absent.
ECM
I think it’s time. Chaff/flare is not enough for defeating these SAMs. We’re fighting against modern technology with technology that is missing THE most important factor of modern aircraft.
Lower tier strike aircraft
No Tornado GR4? Really? In a Nuclear Escalation mode? Come on…
Helicopters
I think would help massively with destruction of SHORADs.
I think the direction is right, but the execution is wrong. This absolutely feels like once it hits the live server it could be the thing the game needs, but at the moment it is the complete opposite.
Was the base captured? In Nuclear Thunder if base/outpost was captured by AI vehicles, it respawned with original vehicles, but under new ownership.
As for game mode itself, well, its currently unplayable with lobby crashes. Though using ever useful strategy of “random bullshit go!”, why not add forward helipads and let this game mode be first Air+Heli game mode?

Gaijin should’ve bring some free vehicles for test the ECM in toptier like the J-15T and F-18
On that note. New VWS voice line i’ve noticed in the typhoon - “Counter”. This is the F-16’s VWS call for the jammer being activated.

they arleady did remove the big one (tu-95,B-52) and now you cant drop even the small one fecause its a su-24 and a f-4, they have to find a way to get again dropping the nukes, if they remove them its just an EC

You`d think they would fix that one bug where missiles turn invisible because the client thinks they rammed a tree, or the SPAAs randomly firing on the move, or inconsistent SPAAs in general.

SAMs present in this mode is the same what CAS players were interacting with for last year - Buk M3, SAMP-T, Spyder AIO, HQ11. Anyone knowing what to do with “MSL” RWR contact should have no issues dealing with them. AI guided ITOs and Pantsirs would be bigger concern.
Some feedback from my experiences playing both sides, its mostly complaints.
Complaints:
In general, all AA is too much of a problem. The frontline SAMs only turn their radars on when you get far too close to be safely effective with nearly any ordinance, not to mention its completely unrealistic.
The “mid” range SAM systems have far too much ammo and immunity. It’s less of a problem on the Russian side (The SAMPs are anemic), but they need to have actually limited ammo with a reload time (and maybe be placed further back?) Literally as soon as you take off from even the middle airfields its immediately into the defensive.
Paired with the very challenging AA as well as other players, the respawn timer can get really frustrating. It does prevent spam I guess, but that wasn’t really a problem in my experience in previous iterations. All it does is just take away a lot of the fun factor and introduce a lot of frustration especially when your team is pushed back.
This may be a hot take, but I also think the player count is too high. Even on the dev server, at top tier there is just too much going on for it to be realistic or fun. The map is far too small and such a player count basically ruins the chances of using any actual attack aircraft (assuming the AA gets changed).
Stuff they got right:
The armadas of ships off the coast was a needed addition and makes naval aircraft more interesting and gives them more use cases.
Reduction of nukes was a nice change. It feels less like an event and more like a game mode. Using them feels more interesting. Maybe another hot take, but I do think the larger nukes + their aircraft should have stayed.
Overall, I think we’re still really far out from a completed and flushed out game mode. A good baseline is still here, but a lot of changes need to be introduced in order for it to be something I personally will enjoy playing.
I’m glad I can finally use hellduck for the mode, was moaning about it last time. But I assumed it would also y’know, drag in tornados and mirages.
Yeah, it hasn’t. Its a shame. I might mess about with the Typhoon within the gamemode, but im not rushing to play it. Would have been a good test bed for the new aiming point mechanic but its still broken
the addition of the new sams ruined it, got into a match, tried to do front line sead/cas on the convoys and i could not even reach the front lines due to the buks, the only way i could do something was pushing out over the water and doing anti shipping, however the AGM-84s punch right through the ship circle around and get destroyed by the ships anti air, so the 2 new things that were added to the us to help counter both SAM and Ship are useless
Honestly kinda miffed we also don’t have harrier or Victor to go along with the mode
