more than enough to answer my question. Thx a lot

AFAIK it’s a stat same like any other, it do not reset after Major Update.
That doesn’t mean that if you TK someone 5 years ago we will put it out and ban you now, because you TK someone back then.
exactly now that i know that 2 tks means 14 days i might as well be perma banned (dont know since im in school currently) but damn why do you even have the feature and add a rule to punish people before anyone knew
I’ve copped a 1day ban for tk today, not actually that fussed after having seen all this prior to it happening.
I defo have done the silly thing of Tk’ing the teammate of the guy who brings a prop to top tier recently so it’s deserved i guess.
However, i have certainly had WAY more unintentional Tks as a result of the game mechanics or bugs than i have intentionally.
In sim especially and tbh i feel if those accidental Tks get included in the tally for the ban then wtf really, that isn’t really alright. As many others have said it happens that a missile will hit a teammate even when locked on an enemy solidly, or they happen to flare at the right moment and a teammate appears into the firing line all of a sudden
I’m sure that most reports get looked into, but i fail to believe every single one does as that’d surely be impossible to do. However, i do feel there needs to be a way to mitigate for such situations rather than the stonewall attitude of “you tk so tough”
We already get penalized with SL for a TK, way more heavily in sim too at that (god forbid you have a booster on too), so perhaps the ban hammer is being a bit too heavy at the moment regarding it.
I’m not arguing against my own ban here btw, i do say i likely deserve it, just feel more can be done on the devs side to make this better for us all rather than now worrying every time my iff enabled radar mistakenly ids a teammate as enemy, or my 9l hits a teammate who wasn’t near it until they popped into play all of a sudden i’ll get a further ban or even perma banned.
In the main i really try not to tk and intentionally avoid it when its a potentially and i’m aware, but it does happen and likely will happen again too (unintentionally). Am i worthy of a further ban because i (rightly) can’t fully control the game mechanics and all variables when i launch a missile?
the other thing being the massive glaring issue here is, if you’re going to ban people for this then why is it even enabled to tk at all? just remove the feature surely and then nobody griefs and nobody has anything to get a lil more salty in how gaijin interacts with its playerbase
Or at least of astronomically low probability… ;-)
In my whole career as WT Senior GM, I never saw a single appeal request that even hinted at a case where mass reporting got someone into trouble.
Cases where it is claimed, but our chat logs clearly prove that the one complaining about the ban indeed broke the rules, those we get almost on a day to day basis.
What may confuse people (in this wave here as well I assume), is that we can’t work “live”, so reports are only handled retrospectively. So people assume they get a ban for something that happened NOW, when it may actually have happened a while ago.
Hence the line “this action may be retrospective” that many seem to have missed in their ban message…
Because that’s super easy to exploit. Take your friend to battle with new account, ask him to TK you and voila, you got boost to your activity and free SL.
TK as offence is in the rules since… 12 years?
why did you implament a rule and punish people before they knew about the rule and then maybe they can change and have more players but since this came out of nowhere and are punishing for past actions when its a feature and not a rule then
Read the fine print you agreed to when you signed up. Holy hell
You really need to read the game rules. Obviously you missed them when you started your adventure with WT :(
Exactly one message above…
bro i wanted a bf109 back then i just wanted to play not read the tos
Very nice, I usually put 3-4 hours daily, as this is my main game currently, I get accidentals all the time, just recently literally had a blue enemy fly into the missile that was chasing an enemy and die, he literally flew into the missile from the side. I also had people fly through my deflection shots. I don’t know how many TKs I have, but I have over 100 hours in just the past two weeks, I would say that’s hundreds of games, and if I get 1-2 friendly kills in that timeframe I’m banned? WW2 had like 10% blue on blue.
Of course I have to do my outmost to not to accidentally damage “friendlies”, but they have no reason to not be nuisance and expose themselves to friendly damage. Hell, there is an incentive since getting TK’d removes repair costs, I’ve seen bombers asking for it multiple times even.
And this does not even take into account when the other player starts shit, like trying (and failing) to ram, or spraying mg around you. Of course I’m going to engage people who try to ram or shoot me.
Furthermore, this does not distinguishes between “in game” and “out of game” friendly fire, as in targeting someone for their name or flags or chat compared to their in game actions. I think out of game should get this punishment, but in game is fine with just the fine.
As for the “we check everything manually”:
Let’s say you take 1 min to review footage, and let’s say you need 1 (I hope it’s not this low actually) TK for a ban, and you banned ~25000 players, so you it should take 25000 minutes, that is ~420 hours. Not only the time cost is ridiculous in this most ))))) generous ))))) estimation )))))), but even the actual cost of paying someone to do it is high. Not to mention Stona admitted to there being an automated process that flags accounts.
This is just one of the worst implementations I’ve seen in games.
Don’t retaliate then, 2 wrongs don’t make a right…
And it’s clear when someone genuinely does make a mistake and apologizes… You won’t get done for an actual accidental TK. Just don’t be careless to get more.
I’ve been banned for tking, but only for an hour so I don’t mind waiting.
I do have a question tho: Do squad tks count as a tk?, because when i play squadron battles with my team, occasionally I like to shoot down our team’s heli/aircraft for fun after we destroy the enemy vehicles and I’m wondering if that could be one of the reasons?
I have tked once last week in a normal match so i understand the reason for my ban.
Thank you :)
what if they dont say sorry and and cripple you ofc i have to get them back
You need to reread what Stona wrote, this is exactly what’s happening.
You don’t…
I get accidentals - but veeeery rarely.
And I’m quite confident I’m not a better player than anyone else. Maybe just reasonably careful…
