I thought Id see you here, so first off in no world are 9Ms better especially not for the intended use, granted they are smokeless sure and have irccm but they are sloooooooow off the rail and don’t pull any Gs, for any scenario that isn’t rear aspect below 2km the Python will outperform the 9M and even most of the time in rear aspect it’ll outperform because it just accelerates that much faster. Also the title “fastest F16” doesn’t bring anything to the table, you don’t only fight other F16s you fight actually competitive jets that when are comparable in Speed have way more and better missiles or are way faster than you with also more and better missiles.
Most of my experience has been with the Chinese version with irccm and I gotta say the pl8b is an amazing missile, normal pl8/puthon 3…. Not so much

Mach 2.2 at altitude is indeed average among the faster aircraft in the game.
F-15E, Su-27SM, and a few others will be faster than it, but others will be as fast and slower than it.
All while performing slightly better than an F-16C in flight performance if its thrust remains incorrectly low.

again it accelerates fast enough and if it gets to a certain range you can’t really flare it since it’ll just relock, i play the Netz a lot, the pythons are a different beast and I’ll gladly take them over 9Ms any day
Yeah but that range is like sub .5 km, anything above 1km that thing is one flarable.
The pl8b for example is esssentially unflable to a f15e below 1.3 km rear aspect due to its seekerhead
varies with speed angle yadda yadda yadda, also I’ve seen my 9Ms get one flared rear aspect by a flanker with full AB and no maneuvering at 2kms so nothing surprises me anymore
Pl8/puthon pulls more Gs and has insane acceleration which is why it feels better (it is better in basically every situation in terms of maneuverability)
with a competition this small that’s pretty sad, and again the low missile count and kit are very limiting, you essentially are nudged into fighting BVR where you not only are slower than F15 and EF but you also get less missiles which in BVR tends to be at least a little helpful so you actually have to be mindful who to shoot at because they can either defend or a teammate gets them first, because again, faster. At its core it’s still an F16 so you’d wanna be close and personal with it and your missile kit wasn’t made for that, the 120 having a tracking delay of forever and also slooooow acceleration same as the 9M
