i don’t care about it being competitive, i care about it being fun. And shooting down players that behave almost like AIs is just not engaging. Game literally develops into a situation where team with least amount of wallet warriors wins. It’s just boring.
What exactly carries over from props and early post war jets, into Fox 3 slingers? By the late stages of a tree it’s a totally different game than the early -mid in both ARB and GRB. There’s also people like me who have the knowledge but don’t have top tier unlocked on any nation, mainly to do with the cost of doing something I don’t want to do.
I have 2 KD in the thing but thats not from my warthunder gameplay experience, it’s from playing DCS or studying fighter tactics. An hour in test flight or practicing with a friend is enough.
Ability to understand that by flying up your aircraft is loosing energy. Or that you get slower during turns. Or how not to crash into a ground. These things are quite difficult to understand for an average lvl 16 player in a rank 8 premium for some odd reason.

Having 2.0 K\D in a unbalanced aircraft that should go up to 13.7 in current conditions where entire lobbies consist of people who bought this thing is nothing too unexpected. Lets check the stats after a month or 2

Lol I was max up tier and had a 6 kill game last night. Most of the kills were against typhoons and f15E.
It’s not really unbalanced, the R77s are mediocre at best, they are notched really easily and lack range. The jet is heavy with less powerfull engines.
There will come a time (which is now) where they have to blend fox1 and fox 3 in matches
either you got single most braindead lobby known to man, or you are not telling the truth.
It’s easy you just have to use the fat between your ears. Stay low, behind terrain and not play toward their meta
18C early going up to 13.3 with AIM-120 would probably end up being a good bit worse than most if not all other 13.3s lol
Since it’s the early I could only assume that it wouldn’t get the LAU-115/127 dual pylons like the 18C lates, so now you have 6x AIM-120s and 2x non-IRCCM AIM-9L compared to 0-6 IRCCM R-73 or R-77 on the 29SMT, 4x R-73 and 6x R-77 on both the J-11A and Su-30MK, 0-6 IRCCM AIM-9M or Derby’s on the F-16D, among others (and this is ONLY mentioning 13.3s, nothing higher btw).
Adding on, compared to the jets listed above, the 18Ce lacks HMD and lacks good missiles for High Off Boresight shots, leaving you pretty much at the enemies will whether you survive or not.
Also the F-18 has pretty bad energy retention and top speed which at a BR where Fox3s and IRCCM Fox2s are MUCH more common puts you at pretty huge disadvantage.
Sooooo idk about you but i’d much rather have a decently competitive jet at 12.7 rather a straight disappointment with wings at 13.3

Without HOBS, is HMD actually all that meaningful?
So long as you have decent ACM modes, you can usually make it work. On everything I play that has HMD, Its just a minor QoL buff at the moment until we start getting HOBS for other nations

Between ranks IV and VIII of the US tech tree alone. I think you have more premiums in the US tech tree alone than I have in multiple air tech trees with almost a decade of playing this game.
You’re around rank VI-VII already, you can unlock most of rank VIII before the year ends pal, it’s just ridiculous to beg for random changes quite literally because “but muhh i dont want to play the game”

The F/A-18C(early) shouldn’t, and 99.99999% sure isn’t going to, be changed into the 18C(late).
EDIT: it also only takes months if you aren’t very good at the game.

I too have been playing since the beginning! However those premiums were purchased back when they were top tier.

Maybe I deal with it because DCS isn’t as easy to get set up, has a smaller player base??? You do know that stuff matters right?
Not everyone wants to start with a biplane and waste months of your life to get where you want to be. The gameplay loop is extremely different to sit and justify that.
