F-5E - Trials behind the Iron Curtain

They really like F-5 :D

im against russia getting the f5e but if it where to get an f5 i think the saeqeh would be really neat

That would actually be pretty nice to have.

Everyone’s always against their stuff going to another tree but it’s still going to happen either way.

im more against copy paste but if a nation made a version of a vehicle that is significantly different than the ones used by the origin nation im fine with those being added to the respective tree which seems to be the case with the saeqeh

Weaponry also makes them different.

That would actually make less sense, seeing as the Soviets got ahold of an early F-5E (which matches the US TT model). The one in the Chinese TT is meant to be a later model seeing as ut has tge shark nose radome (and I believe it’s meant to have the larger LERXs as well).

I never know that they are different.

Personally I think they should be removed too, along with the captured vehicles. although I’m ok with the German KV1 with the PzIV gun as that’s actually a unique modification. As for lend/lease stuff I think its justified to add, but I defiantly prefer stuff that has unique modifications like the Russian Hurricane with the .50cals and 20mm cannons.

Pretty much this. Unless the foreign vehicle is either

A:Needed for a certain BR where nothing else is available.

B: Different from any of the variants in-game (even slight differences) wether it be a domestic mod or simply a foreign model not in the original tree (Gladiator MK1 in the Chinese tree).

I simply don’t see a point to a F-5E that you can find elsewhere. That being said the Iranian modded aircraft would get a +1, regardless of tree.

I have the IRIAF I do like adapted weapons but I think a saeqeh would be a better addition to the game than just a plain Jane f5e with different munitions

I personally want as much to be added as possible, current implementation of sub trees is currently disliked by much of the community.

From what I see, it was more the execution of said subtrees (and some saying that Hungary should’ve not been a subtree for Italy, something I agree with (RIP visegrad4 tree)).

What about adding it without missiles, flares and only with cannons on BR 9.7 (MiG-19S equivalent)? It would be special variant as there is no similar one.

Iran has quite a few aircraft that were derived from the F-5 such as the Simorgh which is derived from the F-5B, the Azarakhsh which is a reverse engineered F-5E with some loadout differences, the Saeqeh you mentioned is actually has 2 sub variants, the Saeqeh & Saeqeh 2, the main difference between the two is the Saeqeh 2 is a two seater and has a higher payload limit but is also heavier because of it. Finally there’s the Kowsar which is based off the F-5F which has significantly more modern and advanced avionics suite, alongside a ballistics computer like with the upgraded Thai F-5’s, also like with the upgraded Thai F-5’s a 20mm cannon had to be sacrificed in order to fit in the new avionics though that’s not too much of a loss in the case of the Kowsar since it’s geared more towards ground-attack than air superiority

Iranian F-5’s also used PL-7’s, Fattir/Fateh AAM’s, possibly other AAM’s such as the PL-5. Also would also used domestically built ground ordinances since they cannot get their original ground attack loadouts from any western nation let alone the US for obvious reasons
