I can’t see that helping all that much to be honest, sure the F-15 will have a great radar but for 95% of engagements it’s not gonna matter, the MiG-29 now already has a good enough radar not to drop lock in the majority of situations, anything better than it will only see slight improvements as far as gameplay goes, when AMRAAMs come sure it may make a reasonable difference but for the early models of F-15 and SU-27 without fox-3 missiles the limiting factor won’t be the radar it will be the missiles and the SU-27 will have more missile and with the current state of the game those missiles will be better.
I don’t doubt your logic, but my guess is Gaijin may artificially limit how many ERs are in play. Only a mix of R-27R, ER and EAs may be taken, not a pure R-27ER loadout.
I think that’s likely. I don’t see a technical reason the Yak-141 wouldn’t be able to carry all R-27ERs, yet in game it can only carry two and the outboard pylons are limited to R-27Rs. The Su-27 if introduced now would presumably be the same.
That said I could see the Su-27 receiving all of it’s eight R-27ERs to counter AMRAAMs in the future… but that’s potentially still more than a year off.
Yeah I don’t see Fox 3’s coming within the next 12 months.
Top tier is going to get very spicy once we start delving into the more modern missiles.
Gaijin is going to either have to communicate very clearly their intentions on how things are going to play out or just watch the community whinge when you get kill hungry players diving into the no escape zone of some of these more advanced missiles.
R-73/E being added right now wouldn’t break the game, but PL-12s would.
yes, and the armament is severely underwhelming. This is no “waaah russian bias america op” but this is about tomcats eating the cake when it comes to radar missile usage. Tomcats, MiG29s and MiG23 MLs.
Invalid logic AIM-120 will not be overperorm R-27ER. It’s Gajin way of wicked thinking why we don’t have them already.
Be prepared for next patch then.
2x PL-12 on J-8F couldn’t break the game.
Sure, as long as i get my Meteor or Aim-120C/D.
and the mig29s can pull 15g’s without snapping, right? ok.
At the moment, so can the F-16s it seems. In fact, you can even do 16Gs in MiG-29 in DCS.
which is stupid, it should rip ay 13.5G’s, same for f-16
in live server f16adf is limited to 10g’s and 22 deg/sec turn time for a split second, on dev server it got increased to 1g more and 28 deg/seconds for a split second. A variant could do 36deg/sec constant and 12g’s on live server, on dev server it does 46 degrees/sec and 14g’s. Hard to say, but on this current state the Mirage F1C is gorillion better for air rb than the damn f16 adf.
This is very highly dependent on altitude, speed, and fuel weight. A snap roll out 21+G on my screen for Netz on dev server.
Netz is not ADF. ADF got changed too, it turned into a slightly worse F16A B10, going from 10g’s at 730 sea level and 28 deg/sec turnrate to 11g’s and 30deg/s turn rate. F16A went from pulling 12g’s to pulling 14-15g’s and went from 32 to 40+ deg/sec.
Again, all of this is extremely dependent on parameters you’re not sharing. I used the Netz as a separate example. If you had videos to compare it would have been better… and doesn’t really disprove what I said.
This is not sustained… If you give G and speed. You need give us fueload weapons and altitude …
of course is not sustained, but it lasts for longer. Any AOA will kill the F16 ADF, you will have to push W constantly, it will retain better past 760 where it would pull 10g’s only at 25deg/s rate, sweet spot is between 700 and 660. I’m talking dogfight wise in 1v1 with no weapons and minimum fuel, below 3km of altitude.
Yeah I believe the R-27ER actually out ranges the AIM-120A/B. I think the ER has ~70km while the AMRAAM has ~50km of range.
Pl-12s are not coming next patch lmao keep dreaming
