F-15I Receiving Standoff Weapons

And here comes the “Mavericks are not as good as you might think.”

They are better than people say. Personally from using them they are actually quite decent. You also have to remember that Israel is stuck with only using guided bombs and has nothing that is actively homing from range or anything that is propelled

“But the GBU-15-”
You are limited to entire 2 GBU-15s. (The US one gets these anyways).

the only form of active homing they have are HOBO’s

They dont need to use the full 100km, all they need to do is be able to outrange any SHORAD ground players have access to, and that they can definitely do, seeing as the incoming GBU-39 SDB’s can hit targets 20km+ away from 1km alt launches.

imma be honest, i dont even play ground battles, i just want cool weapons on my planes

They might be better in CQC maps, due to higher explosive

I said theyre “mid” obviously they outrange all SAM’s in-game currently, but theyre rather easy to spot and intercept for the most part, and their range barely exceeds the Pantsir, and AS STATED fall short of potential future additions like Buk.

The Spice on the other hand will be able to be launched at ranges exceeding anything that could be a player controlled vehicle. Thats simply the equivalent of asking for god mode.

The 15E got fixed, so should the 15I, there was always two sides to the coin here and we need to treat both with the same amount of respect.

At least give the 15I AGM-65s.

how exactly will the SPICE outrange it, its not self propelled?

A panstir would be able to shoot it down just as easily, if not easier as it’s not going as fast, no?

Spice have ranges in excess of 100km due to their wings. There slower than mavs, but significantly superior in terms of aerodynamics and battery time.

fair enough

it’s a glide bomb, it has wings and a 60+km range. Similar to other glide bombs in the game, but instead of being GPS-guided it’s IR guided with an FPV datalink (via satellite) to the launch aircraft. You can toss them over the horizon and kamikaze fly them into the enemy, without ever exposing yourself to enemy fire.

Or just fire and forget, and the bomb will automatically seek out a target.

Would Popeyes potentially be a better option than Spice, balance wise ?

I am thinking purely in terms of the limited amount of them that can be carried - and the sacrifice of AAM’s associated with carrying them.

Depends on if it spots it in the first place. Depending on which spice is added, the F-15I could also just oversaturate the Pantsir. Spice 250 comes in Quad racks, meaning the F-15I could run 20-28 per sortie.

Which touches on another problem. 20+ F&F munitions with 100km range on a single jet. Thats literally game ending. The only possible thing the enemy could hope for would be to have their own jet up and manage to kill the F-15I.

popeye would basically just be a PGM-500/2000 except with slightly more range, but its also a considerable option

i think it would make more sense to ask for the tv guided popeye instead as currently no glide bombs in game have target tracking and i cant see them adding them soon either, however popeyes are pretty similar to pgm 2000 so asking for those has a way better chance of working out

Has 78km range, more than double the Buk. That being said, the PGM’s arent really a major issue, so maybe i guess?

Are you able to add Popeye to the poll? I think many are of the opinion it presents less balance concerns than Spice.

Now that the F-15I gets the spice, it’s time for Germany to get… well nevermind.

This is my #1 concern currently. Loving the update and have been looking forward to almost every addition. However, the current status of Israel receiving the F16C Barak II instead of the Barak I (it would have mavericks) was incredibly pointless in my opinion. I still held out hope thinking that we’d at least get good CAS ordnance for Israel when they add their premier strike aircraft, but nope, somehow a THIRD laser and GPS guided option. I don’t even know how this happened.
