Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t add more stuff to US, still missing hornets which could have been added a while ago. Also missing loads of cold war aircraft
All F-14s are garbage. Worst plane ever made.
Lmfao buddy is rage baiting
Not my fault F-14s had a service life of 7,200 hours or less. F-18s have up to 10,000 hours.
Bc F-18 are newer with composite and more advanced production techniques
Dude this is hilarious
6.5G F-14 parts falling into the ocean because the engine had a stall vs 7.5G Northrop F-18 Cobra performing most of the U.S. Navy heavy lifting and high intensity conflict work. Barely a bombcat. (Also worse than F-18 in this role.)
What the sigma
Northrop doesn’t even make the F-18
Ikr
I know that. In my opinion however, it will always be the Northrop YF-17 Cobra, and Northrop F-18 Cobra. I’m sure congress had something to do with cheating them out of the navalized version.
“The su-33 warthog raptor”
The Hornet replaced the Tomcat, of course it should be better.
If the Tomcat was better, why replace it?
That’s the McDonell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet to you
McDonell Douglas just kept on dropping banger jets, F-4, AV-8B, F-15, F-18
Yes however Northrop developed the YF-17. It was at the Navy’s request that they work with McDonnell Douglas. MD also took foreign sales from Northrop’s F-18L. They were even relegated to being the subcontractor for the very plane that was based on their work. It’s very inconsiderate.
They knew McDonnell would take an it from an ok jet to the workhorse of the navy and marines
They never needed to work with MD however. It was likely just Navy shenanigans to give their dependent companies more business.
Well, MD has a pretty amazing track record at that point. It still happened either way so now we have the McDonell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet
I could see it coming as a premium.
