Did try to do some using some other skins but the bug stopping most userskins from working in custom battles still isn’t fixed - Userskin’s not working after joining custom battle / User skins not working in URL custom battles

iirc it should be 10 at max. But unfortunately it never got them in service so it would be up to gaijin on whenever or not it gets them in game

I remember Smin saying that if it was tested then it could be put in game. So if the F-14D at any point had em or tested em, then it should be put int

Don’t remember if the D tested them. but i know for sure an A model tested them so that could be enough.

I thought that the D tested them too- I’m unsure

zero

Depends, it was at very least intended armament and all D’s were wired for them. Though it never proceeded past that point to full integration in service as the funds were instead diverted for use in the deployment and fielding of advanced LANTIRN / A2G radar development that were also backported to select F-14B’s as well ( the F-14B(U), which is in effect the configuration modeled in game at the moment, though it needs an updated cockpit, and a multitude of A2G radar modes).

Gotcha, from what you posted it looks like it could carry up to six AMRAAMs, hypothetically.

It could get more if they (also) decide to include the trialed / mock-up dual rail config, though I don’t think that was ever fitted to an F-14D.

I mean they did give the Su-27SM Dual pylons, which I can’t even find a pic of it using irl, so.-

Who knows, it’s up to Gaijin in the end.

(mock-up) pylons

They gave the Su-27SM dual pylons because of a photograph of service Su-27SM.
A test bed based on an F-14A is not a service F-14A or F-14D.

No…
Only photo of dual R-77 mount is… Su-35S. Which has more space between engines.
Current model is wrong btw

I thought that was only for Su-35S and Su-27SM3

not a Su-27SM but a Su-35S

you can see it having downwards dispensing flares in the tail which is only found on the Su-35S ontop of it having 2 more wing pylons than the Su-27

Su-27SM3 didnt get the dual pylons either, but 2 extra wing pylons which would amount to the same amount of missiles carried as a whole

my theory is that gaijin wanted to turn the Su-27SM into the SM3 but didnt want to bother changing the 3D model for the 2 extra wing pylons, so they just gave it double pylons

Oh, Thanks. I knew the SM3 carried more I just didn’t know where.

Damn, So we have another Franken plane?

yes exactly

the upgraded engine we have on the 27SM were only mounted in 5 - 10 27SM1 as an upgrade, while the 27SM3 had them from the factory
