AIM-7s doesn’t have enough mass to offset the shift in the CG caused by the AIM-54.
Anyway, in the real life, mounting the AIM-54 only at the rear was never an option even on D model because it would have made enormous drag, since the fairings available on Stations 3 and 6 could not be used, also mounting the AIM-54 on the wing pylon allowed the aircraft to carry x4 AIM-7s without incurring penalty, there was simply no point in doing so.

But he’s saying you’ll never see the Tomcat with 2 Aim54a at the rear center stations and empty everywhere else. 2 Aim54s at the rear will always be accompanied by missiles/weapons loaded elsewhere too.

Not gonna lie guys, but the Aim-54 changes didnt really do much in terms of their lethality. They are still slow as heck and really easy to notch, even the C+ which is supposed to have the same autopilot and similar solid state digital guidance section as the Aim-120A. You have to be afk or scrolling tiktok to be hit by one of them.
Let’s start off with the fact that youre only level 72 only have one plane higher than rank 4 that is the Su-33 witch is a great plane since it has access to 12 missiles witch is the r27er the best fox 1 in game and it also has access to r27et/r73 witch are also good missiles to have, its Flight model is also good, it has access to a hmd witch is beneficial the radar iirc is also good. aim54 is not the best missile in game hell not even in 13.0 it’s hardly even a reliable missile, then theirs the Aim7m is just mid the only reason the f14D are appearing to look so good is the sheer amount of them. So I suggest you look at videos on how to notch or on how to play above 12.0 br jets
The explosive mass being reduced really did them in

It’s great at altitude, better even. Thing is, no one flies at the altitudes where this new Phoenix is at peak performance

Absolutely aim54s are genuinely pathetic in some circumstances. At low altitude its much worse than it used to be kinematically.
