Anyone has any info on this? I’ve always known/just payed around it but now wondering if it can be changed.
The negative vertical soft lock has a limit. When you pitch up to say get extra loft if you past a certain angle you will lose soft lock. (you can see me pitch back down and reacquire the soft lock) Although there is no positive vertical limit for it, other than the radar’s gimbal as I would assume it would be for the negative angle.
Using manual radar control you can not angle the radar past that downward point either. Only if you get a hard lock can you use the full negative gimbal
its still objectively pretty bad at 12.7 especially considering how often it goes to 13.0 and 13.3. i mean you start with AIM-9D’s and AIM-54A’s, fighting multiple AESA planes and modernized flankers. at 12.7 it should have AIM-9L and the F-14B should have AIM-9M’s
