F-14 Tomcat: History, Performance & Discussion

its probably orders of magnitude cheaper, its probably so expensive that even the US would have a kneejerk reaction.

“sure lets cram modern electronics an sensors in a 1970 airframe made a by a country we have no tecnological connection to”

I see… I’ll make an updated report

how did this get through the mods ?

It has a primary source on the hawk which is what the Sedjil is

have you guys been getting TKed an unusual amount of times in the F-14A Early?

yeah but the FAKOUR-90 is a AIM-54 not a HAWK all is a swapped motor

Here it is in case anyone wants to support it, it’s small issue but would be a very welcomed fix

I’d like to see the NK101 (2004) spec for VF-31 implemented, but I wonder if Felix’s rights or something like that might prevent it from happening?

God I hope we get vx-9

I want VX-4

hey mikey you got any documents that would be a primary source for AIM-54s size ?

Check the Aim-54 thread. I posted an entire marathon of Aim-54 Schematics there.

Including stuff like this:

@VF21_Freelancers take a look at this report how does the FAKOUR-90 get some how magically pull 20g even though the HAWK is 3 ft bigger than the AIM-54

" Although most sources reported that the Fakour-90 is a copy of the AIM-54, some analysts suggested that the Fakour-90 was actually an air-launched version of the MIM-23 Hawk missile with control surfaces from the AIM-54.[14] Analysis of the images identified the rocket motor being “M112” which is used on the Hawk as well as cable raceway similar to the Hawk"

YOU CAN SEE THE SIZE DIFFERENCE THEY ARE NOT THE SAME

at least use fakour 90 sources.
Here is export fakour, it removes the booster and keeps only the sustainer.

no word on maneuverability though other than min range and maneuvering delay

Just so it’s clear the normal Fakour-90 keeps the booster and only the AD-40A loses it, as we’ve seen from the test firing footage.

why ? the FAKOUR-90 is a AIM-54A with swapped motor the bodys identical other than the BULDGE they added on the side and theres no source i can find that supports the 20G maneuverability

its blatant non sense showing favoritism nothing in the bug report shows any data for the FAKOUR-90

all it shows is data on the HAWK WHICH USES DIFFERENT FINS AND A DIFFERENT BODY

I found this, but it’s more of a talk and pictures than actual data.
Weird thing is you won’t find real data and most likely REAL data without some kind of propaganda in them as well.
To be fair it is debatable if it even is ARH or SARH.
It supposed to be a Maghsoud missile that is ARH … never saw anything of it.
Nowhere says about if they kept the HAWK or the 54 avionics/guidance or if and how it was upgraded.
Just that they changed the cables and the engine (to M112 of the HAWK) and ^probably^ some unspecified (or various ) things according to ^estimations^.
But even with all this…
To say the missile is externally similar to HAWK , no it’s not. It just uses those ^bulbes^ in the sides similar/same with the HAWK because most likely the cabling is of the HAWKs.
Practically , you either take on account 54s G-loads etc, only because they are too similar fundamentally , and that’s 25G . Or you go by it may have differencies in what its ^computer^ allows it and limits it to HAWK levels , or general behaviour (flight characteristics as a pattern and the missile as a unit…tries to mimic them…) .
I don’t see any HAWK missile control surfaces in F90s pictures. Now if it uses the 54s (or the looks like 54s) control surfaces to replicate a HAWKs envelope , because it’s computers say so …and if and how it is possible (probably can be possible) that’s another story.

In general the thing we have in game is just a convenient assumption , that is convenient enough to be artificially better than a nerfed Phoenix as main selling point of the IRIAF F-14…supposedly AM , without even implementing the AM’s supposed upgrades of AWG-9+ (supposedly they digitalized it to be compatible with F90s) .
Excuse me to always used ^supposedly^ , but we don’t really know if it even an upgrade like that was made, or even needed to shoot F90s.
