Seems Smithsonian has NAVAIR 01-F14AAA-1 from 1986.
Probably, since it mentions “no restrictions on access,” it is probably the only flight manual from the late 1980s that is not under export restrictions.

Unlikely. Those two aircraft had been parked there for two years. They’re probably just empty hulks whose parts are being used on other F-14s.

The reality is that we don’t even know in what condition those 14s are anymore…
Sure there was one at Kish Island Air Show 2024 , but that doesn’t really mean it’s in combat condition.
And given that Israelis didn’t find any opposition, i dare to say that they kept them flying (yes) but for show of strength and because they are known and historical aircraft (at this point) .
i don’t think think they are combat worthy…flying is one thing, combat is another…

Is it just me, or did they remove being able to switch STT locks from PD to SRC while staying locked on? I remember it was exclusive to the Tomcat/AWG-9…

It automatically does it for you, you can’t manually do it anymore. It’s been like that for like a year or 2 now

Not for the AWG-9 lol. I lose track when the target starts turning instantly… No SRC or anything.

yeah notch angles are super high for whatever reason higher than the F4J which has better radar for some reason

im pretty sure f-14/awg9 has like almost no notch angles when in look up

its PD doesnt work in rear aspect you gotta turn it off to lock in rear aspect but no PD means 1 chaff F4J can rear aspect with PD both have HDN PD but F4J is better for some reason

manual control of this removed for all jets long ago, auto only now
