Ugh, this doesn’t make any sense. We’ve been waiting over two years for Gaijin to finally implement EEGS & IRST in the F-104, and now the perfect opportunity has come up—the F-104 is getting an HD model of its internal modules in the upcoming major update, but… I guess they couldn’t be bothered to add the missing features yet. This is crazy…
4 km is just the ACM range limit, you can and should use Search to acquire and lock targets further away. The S radar sucks but if you are using ACM mode then you are handicapping yourself with the 4km limit.
The bigger problem is the lack of lookdown, the need to trade a gun for radar missiles, the rear-aspect short range IR missiles, and the horrendously bad energy retention that all make you an ineffective sitting duck. Should you do anything but run at mach 1.28 through the battlefield in straight lines. Forget uptiers!
