This is terrible. I’m rather disappointed in the treatment the F-102 has gotten from the developers. The fact that they’re even giving the F-102 Super Falcons, which it cannot carry (at all!), is a travesty, let alone the fact that they won’t give it the missiles it COULD carry.
Really, the point that the F-102 CANNOT USE the Super Falcons (not even technically compatible) needs to be driven home more. If the developers acknowledge that fact, then they’ll be forced to add the older Falcons in lieu of any alternatives. I’m curious to see what their response to THAT report will be.

I’d call it a perfect storm of unfortunate game balance decisions, but the devs had so many warning sings it’s fully intentional.

I think that it’s even more of an insult that the RB28 was implemented for the J35J which is literally a license-built AIM-4D Falcon, but they can’t even copy-paste and retexture it to the F-102A

It’s even more insulting given the fact that the devs denied the AIM-4D and other standard Falcon missiles for the F-102A because they BELIEVE they are inferior to the AIM-4F/G.
Then, the devs added the RB28 (AIM-4D) to the J35J despite it already having the RB 24J (AIM-9J) available as a later modification.

Well to be fair in the Aim-4G and Aim-4D are supposed to be all aspect ir missiles in real life, so they should be superior to aim-9j in certain scenarios, but right now they certainly aren’t ingame.

We both know that Gaijin is reluctant to change that because of the implications for game balance, so the AIM-9J remains superior, gameplay-wise.

Depends, I would say the GR 1 was like egregiously OP when it was added. Like, probably worse. Then almost any jet ever added 'cause nothing had flares and had like 35G missiles it has been given short end since
poorly implemented != OP/Terrible
Harrier has always been too hot, turned too little, has too little thrust, lost too much speed, had the wrong AoA, hasn’t had VIFF modelled properly, overheated too quickly, been smoky
even SRAAM is wrong lol (did get massively corrected last year though, is still a bit wrong)
Tonka couldnt turn for shit on launch, and the foxhunter was wrong, its better now, but theres still tidbits wrong, atleast Tonka can use some ITR now
AJ/JA37 viggen is also extremely wrong in almost every way (to this day) , similar such as the Harrier, and F-102A was

oh im not disagreeing with its just like F14A got shafted after a bit for being too strong than buffed like years later its basically same story
