Also, this outstanding bug report is still relevant:
Missiles missing target because they aim at empty space
Because the F-102A is going to use non-proxy AIM-4 Falcons, they are not going to hit directly into the fuselage of the aircraft due to the location of the rectangular “box” that contains the whole 3d model of the vehicle hovering out of place.

It has been accepted but I upvoted it to help it game traction, maybe we should ping Stona to have it brought up to higher attention since the F-102 is going to quite literally be DOA without the AIM-26Bs unless they put it up in BR to receive them.

Here’s to hoping for improvements in armament (Aim-26 buff and Aim-4 historical corrections) for both this aircraft and the Greek one!

Would need to confirm if the Greeks used AIM-26Bs. But as far as I am aware the Greeks never formally purchased AIM-26s in any form from either the Swedes who manufactured it under license of the J-35 or the US.
Either way, Gaijin will use the “technical compatibility” card to apply the Greek F-102A. I am mostly indifferent to it.
That’s if Gaijin even gives it AIM-26Bs in the first place or they give us a special 9.7 Premium version and leaves the TT version DOA.
stock grind with it seems that is going to be painful
Submitted a new bug report for missing AN/ALE-2 chaff dispensers.
Hopefully, we get SUU-11 minigun pods to make stock grind slightly easier.
Got a weapons chart to support that addition?

There is a photo that supports the proposed addition. It’s a field modification of the Vietnam War, so naturally, it wouldn’t appear in the standard weapons chart.

Ah, I remember field mods being rejected because they are not standard however.
Never know, it’s worth trying.
Imo, if its going to be stuck with the non-proxy falcons, this plane needs proximity fused FFARs as a stock option like the F-89.
Having only 24 of them does mean you will not get too much use out of them but it would make the plane infinitely more usable for stock grinding.

Funny you mentioned that, the F-89 is not supposed to have Proximity Fused rockets either lol
Wouldn’t be an issue if the F-102 had the experimental proximity fused Falcons but would be even better with even a singular AIM-26B.
The good thing is that the proximity airburst definitely exists as a historical option for the 2.75-in FFARs in the F-102A.
However, it’s a secondary source. I need to find additional sources to support this.
Sadly, the F-102A flight manual I used is very basic regarding the armament system. It’s T.O. 1F-102A-1, and it’s incomplete without supplement T.O. 1F-102A-1A. This manual describes the armament system in depth.
The problem is that you are not going to find the T.O. 1F-102A-1A online to purchase or download. Somebody has to go into the archives to scan it, provided that the physical copy survives.

This is true, but it’s just anachronistic for the F-89 to have it since the proximity-fused rockets existed after the F-89’s retirement.
I don’t think Gaijin will remove that because proximity-fused rockets are the only thing that makes the F-89 very playable.
Anyway, the F-102A should have used the operational proximity-fused rockets in the game.
BTW, I suspect the F-102A should have options for different rocket salvos other than just firing all 24 rockets in one shot.
The reason why it has proxy rockets is because gaijin tried doing radar time fused rockets like it should and they played terribly. Their presence is a gameplay concession which is very warranted imo as without them I cannot picture the F-89 being relevant beyond a poor A2G platform.
Yep, without them I fear the stock grind of this plane will be abysmal.
