Thanks. That’s exactly what I needed. In another mistral post there’s a Chinese main coping that the mistral is better than the Chinese gila knock off found at 9.3, even considering the fin AOA or autopilot not being able to lead correctly
Try to send a issue with these pics and data.
can’t a freaking dev just look at the topic??? gajin are trying so much to make france unplayable
Another update.
No fix about stinger mistral chaparral roland.
They just ignored issues just liked how they “forget” removing the proximity fuze of Igla. just few lines of codes to delete and they just “forget” everytime.
Is mistral’s booster correct right now?
negative !
Is there information or issue reports about it?
afaik the booster is fine
what’s wrong is overload and seeker
look upper, legrandsarazin simulations
yeah i remember those
So G overload incorrect, resulting in a too large turn radius. Nothing about booster unless i missed something ?
booster firing time, it’s on the main post
ha, i see where the confusion comes from. The incorrect sustainer burn time has been fixed since then.
Mistral would fire for 6 seconds back then, making it visible during all its flight. Now it’s only on for 2 seconds, which, according to public documentation, is correct.
Come to think of it, maybe we are taking the problem by the wrong end
What if, instead of proving the missile has an incorrect overload, we were to try to prove that the current missile can’t hit a target maneuvering at 8G in game
Not the easiest to bug report, since we would need different scenarios (head on, cold and abeam target) and the pilot would need to maintain 8G, but maybe doable. @DirectSupport , @LeGrandSarrazin, sry for pinging, but do you think it would be a realistic thing to set up ?
Also,
a bit unrelated since Mistral 3 isn’t technically in game, but quite interesting anyway :
For comparison, the official max range value for the missile given in MBDA’s brochure is 8km
LeGrandSarrazin will not work on the mistral anymore I believe. We have plans to somehow make the devs introduce Mistral 2 and 3 in game tho, which could bridge the gaps in capabilities to make them more usable on the euro tigers. This is not the primary goal, as there are more important stuff to work on in our opinion as of now, such as the rafale and other French missiles.
to take with a pinch of salt for now :
a new variant of mistral (3+, maybe 4), seems to be in the works
https://x.com/ForcesOperation/status/1898639968274203083
It should notably be better than the current version 3, with more range, a better capability against drones, and with an emphasis on production costs
New bug report for mistral regarding its deceleration :

Special thanks to @DirectSupport and @LeGrandSarrazin for their help with sources
Very interesting bug report !
I thought Mistral fell off the sky after only a few seconds, but never really managed to find sources about it because they are so scarce …
Great job !! I imagine this is due to excessive drag. Hopefully it gets fixed fast, as Mistral is incredibly weak at the moment and I would rather use Stingers over them on my Tiger helicopters.
it stops burning after 1 km and becomes basically useless against anything maneuvering past 3-4
note that it could have an impact on the range as well. Mistral 3 for example is stated by MBDA to have a 8km range, while some reports say it can reach 12

If this family of missiles was correctly and completely implemented in game, it would have no business being at a lower BR than Roland
A good mistral 3 platform would indeed be between the Strela and tan Sam (? Japanese AA I never remember the name of) in terms of performances, so definitely above Roland material.
Mistral 1 would have a bit less range I’d still believe with overall better usability, so probably the santal would be at around the same be as the roland with « fixed » missiles
