Actually… It might be the third strongest naval addition of this major. Behind Soyuz and Iowa but unlike those, is at 8.0 and is just farming downtiers. If nothing else, it can take a beating.

This is true, but with multi launch vehicles. Skysabre would be excellent, and able to match the performance of IRIS-T SLM if they allow the CAMM-ERs to be properly modeled (actually should be slightly better in terms of range)

Both Britain and Italy got screwed this major, especially as both could have gotten CAMM-ER slingers. But I think OP was just looking at it from the PoV that the IRIS-T SLM might be the same chasis/truck (im not willing to commit at this time that they are the same) and so at least part of the vehicle could be re-used.

They’re Pantsir equivalents in the same way a Stormer AD is a Roland equivalent. The two types of vehicles couldn’t be more different and any new SAM system bodies the Pantsir in every way but range. The Soviets need an IR system too and if that means two supposedly equivalent vehicles then so be it. It’s not like Gaijin has a problem with certain countries having more top tier vehicles than others (cough cough US air cough cough)
