Gaijin is so based…

Or the Red Baron or August von Mackensen

There’s Kurt Knispel, which is cooler if you ask me

Zrinyi and Turans will be in Pages of History?

Once again, a major naval fight left out of the ‘Pages of History’ list. I’m referring to ‘The Battle of Leyte Gulf’…the largest naval-air battle in 20th century military history.

Why would this be included?

Simple…Fits the timeline. The fight took place over a 7-day period…between Oct.20th & 26th, 1944. And that week will be the battle’s 80th anniversary. There’ve been countless documentaries made about it…& some featured the surviving US naval veterans who were there.

And yet, although ‘The Battle of Leyte’ was mentioned, there’s nothing about the brawl in the gulf itself.

When there’s a combined 231 warships (166 Allied & 65 Japanese) & 1,996 planes (1,280 US & 716 Japanese), this is one naval-air brawl that should really have been noted…for that was the week the Imperial Japanese Navy & Air Force were finally put in their place.

Nice piece of information, could you please link the documentary for other people interested in the topic?

It is AI generated the guy they hired works with AI generated art hes on a russian page if you look aroynd you can find it.

This profile icon is literally the first one to motivate me to grind against the monthly events I have been ignoring.

If they fixed errors made by AI, it would be awesome.

I don’t understand this pages of history, all we get are Allies war heroes. It’s like you bring out a history book without mention Axis counterplayer of General Montgomery, who was Rommel.

They’ve already explained why they don’t do axis based POH

We made also in this Forum examples what can be added who were no war criminals or Nazis. But hey, it’s fine anyway, because the list of heros is so long that we would never get there.

Yeah you’re right, but like I said, they’ve explained why they don’t do it. Don’t get upset with me, get upset with them

Interesting that they used to post Axis related news, like this about Romanian tank ace: [Warrior Profile] Ace Tanker Ion S. Dumitru - News - War Thunder

They have, but their explanation is really really bad.

Interesting, also the fact there is still no one Rumanian tank in the Italian tree.

Well, there’s a number of documentaries on ‘The Battle of Leyte Gulf’ found on various websites, but the whole bulk of them would be on YouTube’s files.

Among the examples:
'History Channel’s two most famous series…‘Dogfights’ & ‘Battle 360’. The former has the episode titled ‘Death of the Japanese Navy’…mostly chroniclizing the drama that unfolded in the San Bernardino Strait involving Rear Adm. Clifton ‘Ziggy’ Sprague’s Task Group 53.3 (‘Taffy 3’), & this includes the bold run by USS Johnston (DD-557), which earned Lt. Com. Earnest Evans a posthumous Medal of Honor.

The second one…& it’s one that would be deeply recommended…is 'Battle 360’s “Episode Nine”, & it covers the battle in close to its entirety.

Also, there are documentaries of the Leyte Gulf fight in the series ‘Victory At Sea’, ‘Crusade In The Pacific’, & the British-made ‘Battlefields’.

And…if you need further help, allow me to send you a couple of ‘special deliveries’:

Goes to show that what you think can never be found again…actually is hidden in plain sight.

Unfortunately I think Gaijin will never work on any Axis Pages of History, doesn’t matter if they approve ‘square mustache’ ideals or not, Axis? No Pages of History for you.

Imho a classic example how things like pure luck can influence success or failure in war times. A short reminder: Bong was grounded whilst his original unit was transferred to Europe. The subsequent transfer to another unit assigned to the Pacific allowed him to be successful there against inferior (climb and speed) opponents - otherwise he would most likely being clapped by the LW as the mix of missing performance and poor tactics produced very high P-38 losses in A2A combat above Europe and North Africa.

There is a reason why P-38s & P-47s (except 56th FG) were withdrawn in 1944 from escort duties above Europe…

Typical w… dream of a US fanboy - requesting a severely undertiered (5.3 in RB) prototype (maybe 2) which never saw combat to get back on sale. Everybody who ever fought P-38Ks knows that a BR of 5.7 or 6.0 would be adequate…

Edit: US fanboy flagging attack…
