Allo Allo, it’s a profile pic of Officer Crabtree!
What’s the navy guy doing in land?
A unit serving in the French army and led by a Frenchmen.
Dude - they were Spanish, but they were not allied troops - they represented the Government of the Spanish Republic in exile - a toothless organization without any official recognition by the main allies US, UK & USSR.
Even after the war no serious nation recognized this “government”.
A few thousand Spainyards served within the FFL, that’s why your claim is correct that Spainyards were the first in Paris - but you might also know that among the last defenders of Berlin were a hell of French SS soldiers (Charlemagne).
No???💀💀💀💀💀
There’s literally no source of “Iraqis destroying or capturing the equipment of the 35th Brigade”
The only tangible proof is an interview of General Ra’ad Hamdani, General of the Republican Guards during Iraqi Freedom, which was translated into a paper of the JCOA
In his interview, he’s stating that the Kuwaiti basically inflicted little to no losses, meanwhile the Iraqis captured all of the equipment of the 35th Brigade.
This interview is considered false for years for these reasons:
- There are A LOT of interviews made both to the 35th Brigade and the Saudis, and they both confirmed that all of the equipment from the 35th reached the Saudi border later that day
- The conditions of the tanks and the amount of ammo they have left confirms there was more combat than Gen. Hamdani suggested
- The single Kuwaiti Pilot of an A-4 that helped the 35th confirmed the engagements, both with his words and with the black box of the plane
- When the Coalition reached that point of the Highway during Desert Sabre, they noted battle activity but very few tank corpses, all of them being Iraqis
So yeah Gaijin, don’t write something that is considered historically false
A french unit using US uniforms and US vehicles and respoding directly to US command.
Your point?
Are you telling me the 9th company of the Frech leclerc division are not allies troops???
With the Wallonien and Norland volunters there a spanish company too.
“The other Spanish company was sent to Kangfurt training camp in Austria and later to another training camp in Vienna. This unit eventually evolved in the Spanische-Freiwilligen Kompanie der SS 101 which was made up of four rifle platoons and one staff platoon. The entire company which consisted of about 140 men were sent to the 1st Battalion, 70th Panzergrenadier Regiment of the 28th Freiwilligen Panzergrenadier Division which at that time (February 1945) was in Pomerania. After suffering serious losses against the Soviets the division was withdrawn to the River Oder where it formed a defensive line north of Berlin near Stettin. The Spanish 101st Company by some strange series of events ended up as part of the 11.SS Freiwilligen-Panzergrenadier Division “Nordland” and saw it last action fighting in the ruins of Berlin alongside the 15th Waffen Grenadier Division der SS.”
No, but your initial sentence:
…is rather misleading as less informed readers might get the impression that Spain as a country participated in WW 2 as Allied nation - and not guys either forced to leave France (back to Spain or deportation to Latin America) or getting “voluntarily” conscripted into the FFL.
You might agree there is a difference between nationality and nation.
Could we have more tasks based on wars in Asia or other places and other era like Cold War of the world for Pages of History? I believe it’s not Pages of WW2 European Theatre…
Aug: 7/8 are WW2 European Theatre
Jun: 6/8 are WW2 European Theatre
Jul: 5/8 are WW2 European Theatre
May: 4/8 are WW2 European Theatre
Apr: 4/8 are WW2 European Theatre
Tito icon when?
Would be “Pages of History” about german soldiers or officers?
extremely boring profile picture and surely not AI-produced bland wallpaper
no a dev already commented once on this. for ideological reasons, no axis will be in pages of history
Actually there are outside the Korean War just few wars which were not asymmetric wars, have historic relevance and have a connection to in wt available military hardware. If you look closer you see more or less just a certain superpower bombing guys with ricehats / turbans and AK-47s.
Historically seen outside the (imho ongoing) conflicts between India & Pakistan and neighbourhood clashes in the Middle East there were simply no significant conflicts which can be connected to the currently available vehicles in wt…
Sino-Vietnam war or Malvinas/Falkland War? We could also have WW1 battles(we have ww1 ships in game) even like Zapad-81 exercise or the first flight of X plane(we have First Flight of Phantom already on May this year)
I meant significant regarding numbers of aircraft involved on both sides - i expressed more than often that ARA San Luis might have decided the Falkland conflict - the British fleet would have turned home if the AEG torpedos would have been wired correctly and they had lost one of their carriers…
Iirc there was no air-to-air combat in the Sino-Chinese war, so maybe some tank experts might be able to give you a better response, but as long as Vietnam is not implemented as a nation it looks rather bold to refer to this conflict…
WW 1 ship battles - i have zero clue about naval warfare in this era. Maybe a naval expert might help you here…
Have a good one!
Who was in Paris? (I’m so sorry)
WHY does this start with a battle from the First Gulf War and then continue with 7 battles from WW2??
VERY annoying as I am a returning player starting over from scratch and I could actually do this event if it didn’t start with rank 5/6 vehicles :/
When will be the next “Fair Play” Report?
any chance the FAA Hurricane from the 2020 BoB event could be added to the ‘Hardest Day’ task roster?
