Sweet
God I hope gaijin could bring this back as a yearly thing and not just a one off for the first time since 2017 or whenever it was last done.
This is fun as hell.
Pretending to be a AC-130 with the H8K3 circling over a enemy on the water ripping into them, watching sunderlands go into the vertical to get guns on target below them, watching float bombers do loops and spins brawling with each other without worrying about a fighter swooping in ruining the fun.
And to top it all off I’m earning RP and spading some floatplanes while having fun.
This is a good opportunity for Japanese seaplanes to play an active role, so I hope that the N1K1 will not be removed, but to be honest, I am prepared to be excluded because of its strength.
As you all know, the N1K1 can evolve into the N1K1-Ja by purging its floats.
The floatless N1K1 can become a “紫電(シデン)”, so in Japan it is called a “シデソ”, a play on words in katakana.
If WW2 had not happened, Japanese floatplane could have been a good product as a transport aircraft in the islands
I would like to see Japanese floatplanes such as the E16A, which can be said to be the perfection of the two-seat reconnaissance floatplane, and the M6A1, which can be operated on submarines, implemented, as many of them are not yet implemented.
I know the event will end on Monday so it won’t happen this time but as a bit of feedback for next time this rolls around, let us use the normally inaccessible naval floatplanes for this event.
A couple of them with like a single 7.62 and no bombs I get but others like the Walrus or the goofy French RV with wings confuse me because lack of cockpit aside they are fully modeled and detailed and I’m pretty sure would be superior to the kingfisher in every way.
Gaijin put a decent amount of money into them all, even the ones that only are mounted on one or two ships when they could have just substituted a different one.
And they languish in obscurity.
My squadron leader, Bo Time put a video on the event where they joked about the Walrus being added because he, among many others have no idea they exist in-game, locked behind cruisers.
