The report claims overperformance also at 6,000m altitude which would be well within developers previous work of correcting things at those altitudes.
Dragonfire on Typhoon when?
=)
i will not be arguing about the EF timeline but by latest 2030 AMK is prolly a production module as its planned for integration 2028.
Other then that EF consortium does whatever they want, LTE is also a thing.
Theres a Reason why we called it litarally Goldfish-M :3
Iris t block 2 will just add datalink, FASE is not defined for now and is planned to arrive in 10 years + alongside being made with France.
Meteor MLU situation is not clear and might be straight up cancelled, it was supposed to be a thing in 2026 if i remember correctly both from report from Italy gov and UK and still no clear news and would explain France making it’s own missile ““similar to meteor”” in terms of range.
Damn, seeing nation mains and one trick ponies fight/argue like this over whose plane is better really brings me back to late 2024/early 2025.
hearsay, there are literally no publications on it
Rest it i guess, tho i think highly likely either Meteor MLU will be pursued by germany or germany will join or start a project of their own
Well, it seems like that is how they advertised it.
Especially since the content of the IRIS-T Block II project was earlier described by Diehl Defence Chief Program Director Harald Buschek at the ILA Berlin Air Show 2024, in June. According to Buschek, the updated version of the missile will receive a new homing head, improved electronics, and the ability to exchange data mid-flight.
In case of, sure it’s not only datalink, but what is relevant for wt, which will most likely only be that, except if we are lucky.
I don’t even know how a program that was led by another country that left it, is supposed to continue.
We have actual RCS numbers for Eurofighter, Rafale is more speculative (IIRC the report was passed saying that the RCS should be reduced by some undefined amount, but the “RCS of a sparrow” stuff was rejected). So the Eurofighter report might be more likely to actually be implemented.
Eurofighter also has spectral flares.
Kuwait have had the Captor E in service. Before Gaijin added the AESA Typhoon since 2021
But we didnt ask for AESA we wanted Captor M to be modelled like it should be. Gaijin refused and gave and added a heavilly nerfed Captor AESA.
Fact is Gaijin know lore accurate Eurocanards mop the floor with everything so they hold them back to keep them “balanced”
TWS mode was in fact pretty much unusable (I know I’m not trying to dodge missile or fly sensibly in these videos, they were recorded to show TWS being almost entirely useless):

I know other TWs radars had problems, but as someone who played plenty of games in the Eurofighter and other TWS fighters the Eurofighter was in a way worse state than any other aircraft I played. You were basically wasting your time trying to use TWS mode. Let’s not play down how bad it was for the first 9 months or so that it was in game.
It seems to actually be planned for production aircraft somewhere in the 2030-2040 timeline. Not necessarily Today-2030 timeline. You can see the presentation was made in 2026, so it’s actually pretty recent.
Clarification here: Flame had shown to me that the EFT is actually overweight in-game so I have to retract the initial statement.
Nerf Rafale

“just add datalink” he says, posting a source that says a new seeker, new electronics, and likely a 2-way datalink, are what was stated to be coming to the missile…

He’s not wrong. MICA IR to MICA NG IR sees a new seeker that is stated by MBDA to offer improved range and countermeasure resistance as well as two-way datalink, so it even has more specific wording than the IRIS-T Block 2 news article, but I would not count on those features being modeled in-game as Gaijin is likely to just make all next-gen IR missiles the same in seeker. New seeker and new electronics doesn’t really matter unless you provide concrete numbers sadly, and even with the concrete numbers Gaijin may prefer to standardize things across the board. Two-way datalink as well is not modeled in-game currently.
Imagine reading…
It’s doubtful we will get any clear informations on seeker and stuff.
This seems a fair point, though there’s whisperings that Comet’s architechture is dual-pulse rather than Ramjet, which we know is generally a disadvantage. But the UK hasn’t even confirmed purchase of Stratus RS which would’ve given similar reach vs non maneuvering targets.
Unfortunately in this metric the UK has leaned towards stealth between F-35 and Tempest for which the armed demonstrator will fly next year (which to be fair will probably be closer to a decade earlier than the FCAS programme).
(The joys of wasting money 15 years ago to develop bespoke Meteors to fit in F-35 that will only be integrated long after they’ve lost relevance rather than accelerating Meteor MLU, because YAY for Anglo-American planes but we’ve cut the ‘Anglo’ portion out even though the Anglo’s contributed more to the F-35 than the American’s did to the Harrier II, and also the Anglo’s have NO control over the programme but hey, we’re partners right… right).
It is said that Comet wouldn’t even reach anywhere where Stratus-RS would be unfortunately. It’s said that it would be no longer than current Meteor, but that just shows the advantages of ramjet. Stratus-RS I would expect it to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 600km+ just based on the size and ramjet.
I do wonder at times what the EFT would look like if it had gotten the F-35’s funding in addition instead. Upgraded engines, upgraded ASRAAM, new radar missiles, just a total upgrade.
So does the presume that the Gripen will still be at a lower BR relative to these guys even with IRIS-T/Meteor? I’m perfectly fine with that.
