Yeah only F-16 pulls it off. Even then I prefer F-15, SR-71, and MiG 25 style intakes

It wasn’t that. It was a few making up sources or misquoting them entirely to intentionally muddy the EFT and it’s weapon systems like it’s 50 years out of date and DOA.
Like claiming the brimstone was just an IR guided weapon no more advanced than an AGM-65. Which is complete nonsense
Especially annoying when they are trying to artificially nerf the typhoon as well in game…which is really funny, only reason to do that is if the typhoon is superior. Which it is

I wasn’t referring specifically to what happened in the eurofighter thread (I didn’t even read it for the most part) but to a more general impression I’ve had when discussing with eurofighter fans in various places out of this server
Tbh I agree the Eurofighter is a pretty good fighter, just kinda overpriced
But my heart will always belong to the Rafale because it looks go good

I chalk that up to the fact the eurofighter has a lot of british heritage and britons are, uuuh, very passionate about their country’s military capability. So any time someone dares criticize a stupid military jet its like you insult their whole country and they get berry mad. This isnt exclusive to the british may i add, nationalism is a global disease.
And from everything ive seen, the eurofighter is def the best jet in the game for now, which makes this whole drama thing kind of funny

It’s fast yes, but it is also blind has an anemic payload for air and ground.
As someone who has a decent amount of games in a Typhoon in Air RB and Ground RB
Air RB the Rafale and Su-30SM are the Meta, because of their payloads and excellent Radars.
people are flying lower making 120s one of the poorer missiles in the meta.
This problem is only exacerbated when you remove markers in ground battles and the Typhoon has to depend on it’s radar. Which when faced with even a Su-34 is going to have issues detecting first.
Lets talk payload 16 Brimstones…Great until you realise you can fire and guide one at a time…
In air we have 6 120s and 2 9M zero close range HOB missiles. 120 efficacy really drops off when you fly lower and shoot them at close range.
MICA, R-73, R-77-1/PL12 all do things the 120 could only dream of. Making any merge with Rafale or Su-30 a real risk.
Typhoon isn’t in a great spot right now.

In raw FM performance, maybe.
But the lack of HOBS missiles vs aircraft with near equal FM with HOBS missiles closes that gap entirely and flips it on its head. Id consider the EFT the weaker dogfighter compared to the Rafale and maybe the SU-30 purely because of this fact
its radar is barely usable at the moment, to the point where you are basically dependent on ACM locking targets half the time
Its primary CMs are nerfed through the floor ahistorically
Its A2G capabilities are none existant
Its missing so many features and capabilities it had IRL, entire sub-systems might as well just be deleted from the game, like PIRATE, serves nearly 0 purpose in game at the moment
As a final point. We aren’t asking for ahistorical buffs. We are asking for the EFT to be modeled accurately to real life. Like every other vehicle in game. I dont see KH-38s have 10km ranges for balance, I dont see Su-30SMs be limited to 6x R-77-1s for balance reasons, etc etc. I dont see why the EFT should be ahistorically nerfed just because it can just barely out gunfight other top tier fighters

and it sounds like TWS+ is having issues accross the board. But CAPTOR-M is missing so many features that its kinda impossible to bug report properly. P-Track could actually fix some of the issues the radar is having I reckon.

In the current meta, absolutely.
As I said the Typhoon is fast, thats really it’s strength.
But being fast isnt enough, Su-30 and Rafale are the meta.
Go and play some games of air RB and see what jets are at the top of leaderboards. Before Typhoon it was F-15E…Now the game play has shifted players dont fly as high making 120 shots far less effective.
Su-30 and Rafale have taken the spot from the F-15E.
Typhoon has remember 6 120s with a poor Radar.
Rafale is superior to Typhoon in every way. It’s as fast, has a far better Radar, superior turn rate and excellent missiles in both MICA and Magic 2.
Su-30 is slower than both but it makes up for it with a new longer range R-77-1 a fantastic Radar and 12 ARHM with 2 R-73s. It can turn surprisingly well and pull as much AOA as a Typhoon.
Typhoon in comparison carries 6 120s as it’s maximum payload.
Now if Typhoons Radar and FM were buffed to the correct levels then yes it would be once again up there.
