Eurofighter Typhoon variants AIM-120C-5 Discussion

Doesnt the 1st sweeden hornet definitely goes to 13.7

Germany used the AIM-120B on the Tranche 2 because they never purchased the AIM-120C until very recently (like within the last year or so).

But yes the AIM-120C-5 would be appreciated as Gaijin don’t seem to want to correct the performance of the 120B (it should perform better against maneuvering targets).

Purely out of curiosity, if they fixed it do you think you’d change your mind or would we have to wait and see how it is to have Hornets and F-15E’s with it?

Which variant(s) of the Aim-120C did the Tranche use in particular? People just saying “Aim-120C” don’t know what they’re talking about, as there’s the Aim-120C-2/3/4/5/6/7 encompassed by that term.

C-5 for the UK in 2007, not sure about C-7, there’s C-8 for Germany as they seemingly aren’t cleared to buy the 120D like the UK.

Not sure about Italy.

Most pivoted to Meteor rather than late model C’s which are for F-35’s but work on Eurofighters too obviously.

No it has Tranche 1 weapons

Tranche 2 Block 10 Never had Meteor. It has aim 120c-5 and Iris-t. Tranche 3 got Meteor

This. C5 and C8.

They made the decision to give it to all 3 nations that have it in game for balancing reasons. They said that when they added it.

Meteor integration started way before Tranche 3 though… You’re aware the UK adopted it first?

Yup, it’s also the reason why it turns so poorly at lower speeds, its wings are very inefficient.

The Tranche is in every Nation the Same and its german 🤦🏼‍♂️

all Tranches used AIM 120B because the majority of them didn’t get used at all and thus stayed in stock for quite a while

Since the F-15E and F-15I Ra’am are getting AIM-120C-5s, the Typhoons should get them as well.
