If what was said above is to be believed the radar should be scanning the entirety of its gimbal in the time its currently scanning a fraction of it, and the TWS scan modes arent scanning even half the volume they should be.
It will but those missiles wont be added to this version (or I would be surprised if theyn were) They will likely produce another EF varaint with the new gen IIR missiles and improvements
So it is likely that while the TYphoon in UK service leverages the ASRAAM as a 40km IR missile we will only get the 4km range Aim9m and 120s on this FGR.4 (early)
the sad part is that there might be one, maybe two hotfix patches if they deploy one next monday but iirc, once western christmas holidays starts, they are not releasing and then we have to wait through russian holidays.
If we wont get radar bug fixed within next 2 work days, EF will suck through holidays and some more.
Trying to grind this plane is currently very painful, my experience with the radar in a nutshell, with a 1 minute clip :
TWS is blind
HMD is iffy
THE FREAKING ACQUISITION BUG WHERE IT GET STUCK
At least SRC PD mode works, but holy heck i’m not playing a 14.0 aircraft to use the SRC PD, I have my EJ Kai for this.
(+ Clouds everywhere, it’s starting to get really annoying)
@Smin1080p_WT are there any news on this front? https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/9yF0BF3nNrFl
As you can see above… its creating huge issues with EF radar as refresh of first bar takes whopping 8 seconds. Same as its storage time. Then there are russian radars too.
Its really big deal this one and really shouldnt be in game for such a long time
Actually FoxHunter was widely considered inferior to Blue Vixen. I think the major handicap of both Blue Vixen and CAPTOR-M is the overly generic modeling of radars that Gaijin employs and so they lack their more advanced search modes.
though I do still personally beleive that CAPTOR-M should have a higher scan rate. Too many sources and references to its new drive system that allowed it to move far faster than most other radars of the time.
Let alone when you include the interleaved modes that allowed it to operate in A2A and A2G modes simutaneously and as far as I am aware, these modes worked well.
I might just try to compile as many secondary sources as I can find and just do a secondary source dump with a proposed interim speed (for example foxhunters scan rate or an average or top radars scan rates)
But I really don’t think it needs a huge boost to make it feel a lot better than It is currently.
