Yeah it has two way datalink like we have on missiles in game. You can see it briefly when he fires at a few air targets.
Are there any videos where the Сaptor-M moves the radar with the radome removed on the ground?
It likely scans fast enough it doesnt need them.

With Priority tracking, PIRATE, MIDS and the ESM scan rate isn’t a concern.
I haven’t noticed this on the MFD in Typhoon in the game at the moment. Maybe I did something wrong, or it doesn’t work in the test flight
On our MFD’s its probably missing, there are a few features that didn’t make it in time, I’ll go through them all and report them in the new year.

Too bad PIRATE doesnt work properly, nor does MIDS in-game, and the CAPTOR-M isnt exaftly picking up the slack…

Technically, it is possible to measure the time it takes for the radar to move from one extreme position to the other and roughly calculate the speed.

Yeah we don’t have MIDS/JTIDS/Link 16 etc yet, I did put in a suggestion for Tornado to get its JTIDS. Shared tracks, the ability to see friendly missiles and who they are engaging as well as engaging using a friendlies weapon system (100% never seeing that haha the trolling potential is too big).

Bug fixes have definetly made it equal to Blue Vixen (at least in test flight) , but I would still be surprised if Blue Vixen got 0 upgrades. In the absence of data, I do think they should just give it like 10-20° / sec higher scan rate to Blue Vixen

All they need to do is give it a little bit of a buff/tweak, and fix whatever is going on with the lock boxes floating off, to put it within reach of capability of the monster of a radar that the F-15E has, and it would make it a more balanced 14.0
Personally I couldn’t care less if it wasn’t entirely real life accurate because let’s be honest that isn’t gonna happen with the classified material - but from a gameplay balance decision, the Captor needs to be better
The F-15C/F-16C is probably a better BVR platform right now at a lower BR
Its wierd. I’ve never had an issue with Blue Vixen on the FA2, but CAPTOR-M just feels… wierd and I cant put my finger on it. It just… doesnt see targets. I feel like im trying to BVR, in SIM using only ACM because the radar in TWS is as blind as a bat.
With more and more AESA radars likely being added soon, I was hoping that CAPTOR-M would be able to compete as I was imagining it would have a scan rate like that of the Foxhunter. But at the moment… No… We are going to be so stupidly outclassed that we will need CAPTOR-E before the end of the year.

Yeah, all you have to do is take the typhoon into a test flight and try and target the two Mig 15s at the same time - the lock boxes are drifting all over the place, and sometimes it cant see them at all even at less than 10km
It’s like the Mig 15s are spamming chaff, the radar’s TWS processing (or however it’s coded) is just extremely dim witted and lazy
Careful, we might end up gstting a CAPTOR-E thats just a copy paste of the current CAPTOR-M, but with ±100° gimbal limits and the devs justifying it cuz “its an evolution of the CAPTOR-M and the only info we have are the gimbal limits”
