Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

What inference? From who? And how much?

Yeah that is the issue. How much? No one knows. Are there documents? Probably yeah. Not any documents I have anyway. And those documents would land someone in jail anyway if they were distributed. And Gaijin couldnt use them as famously stated

But there in lies the issue. What is Gaijins policy on this type of thing?

Theoretical example: the F35 comes to the game. It has the single most advanced sensor array every put on a fighter jet. Its radar is completely bonkers in performance. You know this, I know this, Gaijin knows this. However none of us have any actual numbers. Would it end up with a radar that is pretty much identical to whats on the F15? Or rather would it perform the same as the latest radar we DO have numbers on?

I know for a fact the ACM modes are wrong for example, but I have no way of fixing them. Frustrating to be burdened with unusable knowledge.

Gaijin really needs to come up with a plan/solution for modeling things fairly when information isn’t available due to its classified nature.

Given it’s alleged performance, I’d take know data from high scan rate m-radars and maybe some early pesa radars and average out the results and just apply that. Or something to effect

Agreed. It cant be that, theoretically, and F35 in gsme would have the same radar performance as the latest radar we DO have info on

The fact gaijin thought copy pasting the blue vixen radar over a suitable choice despite not giving it any benefits is hilarious tbh. More advanced more powerful radar let’s just give it this one instead. We all got told not to bug report it for now because it was WIP and now we’ll look at it absolute shambles.

I currently suspect the EFT CAPTOR-M was supposed to be given a much higher scan rate to go along with the 4 sec refresh time, but they just decided not to do so and instead gave it the mediocre piece of tech it has now and increased the refresh time cuz it was easier.

Its also a headscratcher with the Rafale, firstly because they can’t even get the name right (called it the RBE2 AESA instead of the RBE2-AA, can easily find the radar name with a quick google search ffs), and secondly because Ive heard the french mains say its pretty lackluster as well and notably inferior to the Su-34’s PESA radar even after the buff/fix.

Disclaimer:

(Granted the french players say the Rafale is basicly the worst jet ever added to the game and that the entire world is conspiring against them to keep them as the worst nation in WT or something insane and overexagerated as usual, so take this with a grain of salt)

Worst nation lol. Mirages have been, and still are absolute murder machines.

Yeah, i really dont know what they are doing with wise to radars this update :D

I think they got a 4 y/o to pick the numbers like they did with the Puma IFV’s armor values, and we’re now seeing the results of having someone who struggles to count to 10 pick values for things with numerical values that should be in the hundreds.

While no one ever suspects them, the MICA armed M2K can single handedly dominate lobbies when they go close range, not really a BVR competitor but with MAWs, Advanced RWR, great HMS and an abundance of flares + 8 of the best missiles in the game.
Very easy to underrate mirages (and by extension the rafale) due to their lack of BVR yet they are more than capable within 20km at being dominant

Most of all they should be somewhat consistent. EFT going around with a worse radar than the Su-27SM is absolutely insane. Captor-M should blow everything that is not AESA or PESA out of the water.

Even then, fairly certain i’ve read some bits that said it beat early-PESA radars

I mean I very much believe so, at least it should be better in many aspects compared to the early Russian PESAs of the 80s/90s given the gigantic leaps electronics made.

I dont think ive ever seen anyone but french players underrate M2K’s…

I’ve heard it was a lot better than the PESAs first installed on the Rafale as well .

More of those manufacturers lies obviously

Thatd make more sense with why the maniacs that made this patch wouldve decided to pick the RBE2-AA instead of the RBE2 armed Rafale as the competitor…

They always seem to dodge CC attention and never make it onto lists of notable top tiers, they are generally underappreciated by most of the community

I dont think ive ever seen CC’s speak ill of them, they’re just from a niche nation so they dont garner a ton of attention and therefore clicks.

I hope this will remain a meme for a while lol, it’s absolutely hilarious how they responded to the thing… what can you expect though, they also managed to confuse the T-10 manual with the Su-27 one for over a year (that’s the reason the flanker was underperforming all along) and those were documents in their own language.
