Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

You seem to be implying that the empty weight in game being 300 kg too high is because of it including the:

Engine oil, hydraulic fluid, pilot, ammo, etc

That is not a valid explanation because Engine oil, pilot, and ammo all have their own masses in game and are added the empty mass, not included in it.

Going to be another fun update of F15E being top dog still.

Not really?

Typhoon easily matches or surpasses the F-15Es performance with the exception of 6 AMRAAM Vs 8

I didn’t have to wait long. The extra black on the back looks infinitely matte and flat, but it should be glossy. I hope this is due to the not-so-high graphics settings…

In your dreams perhaps. I do not believe for a second that the typhoon will not be gimped for release or shortly thereafter.

Unlike the Gripen. The national archives has information on the typhoon. Flame and Gunjob are geared for war. I would like to see them try.

The only thing in concerned about is the F-15E getting AIM-120C5s sooner rather than later

Lol, what do you mean by “another” and “still”? This will be the first patch after 15E was added (in which he was whined about different engines, because well, American kids can’t have less than the best toy?)

I don’t see any reasonable reason why Typhoon wouldn’t get them in the same patch.

I wonder if anyone’s doing a skin for the Eurofighter who won the Eurofighter v Bugatti race (ZJ920, ZJ911, and another which I haven’t yet identified were the ones involved in the shots for that episode)

heh, I also somehow doubt they’d get away with just giving them C-5s and no one else.

These are not complicated words, I’m sure a smart man like you can understand that the coming update is not the current update therefore is another update.

Just remember the US got Aim-9M equipped F-16s 3 months before we got the Gripen.

It should come to both, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will

In BVR combat, typhoon and F-15E will be equally matched in terms of ability to sling AMRAAMs at each other. The typhoon will hold the advantage in radar performance (until if/when F15 gets AESA) and in ability to turn to notch/evade. F-15 will hold the advtange in missile count.

In WVR, the Typhoon will outperform the F-15 notably.

If Gaijin so truly butchers the Typhoon FM to the point where an F-15E is constantly out dogfighting it, then something is deeply and fundamentally broken with the Typhoons FM. They might be able to ignore Britain’s pleas with the tornado F3 but German mains won’t let it stand. Look at how they got the ice to 13.0

This is what I like to call “Gaijin balancing”
If you complain enough about it, they’ll eventually make a compromise.
Like what happened with F-15E engines.

You’re kidding right? Germany hasn’t been good in top tier air for a long time now. Not going to start now.

Wasn’t that the standard 29 Squadron livery?

I was unaware of this. Could you show me where they are in the code?

Oil mass is in the FM file for each aircraft:

Aircrew mass is defined as constant value (90 kg IIRC) and is added to each aircraft using the formula:

Aircrew mass * number of crew

The mass of each bullet is defined in the weapon file. Then it is added to the aircraft using the formula:

Bullet mass * current number of bullets

The mass of an aircraft actually decreases in game as you fire your ammo.

“hasFuelDumping” ?

That is an interesting line of code

In that case the mass of oils is likely incorrect. 30kg of hydraulic fluid and oil is not sufficient for a fighter aircraft like the Typhoon. Regardless, the empty mass is too high then.

It probably is a bit low. But it seems to be about 30 kg on most jets in game.
