I guess a saving grace is that because the AIM-9X uses the ASRAAM’s seeker the Americans will probably help with seeker reports.
well a seeker report to either will mean a buff for both. so i wouldnt expect US players to report for ASRAAM specifically unless we got ASRAAM on F-16C and/or F/A-18
That’s what I’m getting at. The US will make reports for AIM-9X which help ASRAAM be more realistic and vice versa.
They have domestic ASRAAM production iirc (might still be in the works), which is definitely a massive plus.
The until cost comes from the pentagon saying it cost that much
A more authoritative source, (though not current, Fy 25) can be found.

It should be noted that as with all forward-projected lot based production, there isn’t one particular flat cost, but each lot with appropriate exercised options will be levied over each production unit as for example there are a number of different configurations for the AIM-9X and within those there are a number of production lots, and further cross-pollination and salvaging / refurbishment between variants as production is scaled to meet demand, and the quantity that are on order, for delivery.
as listed on PDF page #131 the average cost of a AIM-9X Block 1 AUR in 2017 dollars was ~$282,000 across all produced lots + options for the USN between ~2003~2017.
For the Block II, - II Plus (AIM-9X-3), AIM-9X-4-GU (replaces obsolescent Mechanical IMU from the -9X-2, with Laser Ring Gyro based system), and refurbished AIM-9M’s this differs significantly.
Anyone know where I can find AGM hellfire missile maximum G pull, since brimstones is just copy pasted from this missile
Can Typhoons protection system detect IRST style ranging and tracking?
Fed up of being sniped by IFVs that have an IRST ranging tracking system?
Yeah they can from what i remember, i mean not all, for sure uk one can and maybe not italian one but for sure not german one.
If that IRST is using LRF, and most are, UK EF would detect it. Rest of them no.
it cant unless it is using a laser range finder (that only the British EF can detect with its LWR)
you cant detect IRST tracking becuase it is a fully passive sensor
That’s frustrating
would ground based IRST use Laser ranging?
That is going to be a long list.
Do you want only present in game, in game+present irl but not in game, or all ever to exist :)?
For in game purposes when you are trying to guide a Brimstone and concerned about SAMS and CAP aircraft you get sniped at mach 1.3 tree top level by a 2S38.
I question if your protection system should provide any warning. Can and do Russian passive sensors have the ability to range, calculate an impact point and continually update with only an IRST system?
well gaijin modeled the LWR in a way where it only gets trigged by laser guided a2g stuff
In case of a 2S38, yes, it should provide laser warning. No IRST in game provides the warning tho. Only if that player use LRF, or LOSBR missile, that warning will be provided.
Laser designators, LRF and laser LOSBR all trigger it.
Thank you for the clarification
didnt know that
but well gaijin is just to lazy to model laser emissions from a IRST
