Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

Id be willing to bet a lot that even if we find absolute, undeniable proof. Gaijin will try to deny it and claim its fake

It’s ok Gaijin will “find” or action the many reports right about the time the Su-35 gets added along with the F-15EX.

I mean, they slapped the supercruise bug report with

so yeah… I dont think any amount of proof is going to get the EFT fixed in any way but how gaijin imagines it should behave.

The fact that there is no evidence it was possible, And how primary source documents all heavily suggest the Twin Missile Carrier was only capable of use with SRAAM missiles and not MRAAMs.

The Eurofighter special

I cant remember if it was here but there was someone claiming that the way the air intake is desinged is bad at high AOA etc.
this here is a comparsion i found to other aircraft how much percentage wise the EF can supply its engines with air (1=100%).

Spoiler

For AOA

and for Mach

from Aerodynamik des Eurofighters Typhoon – Wikipedia
wich cites this as the source Aeronautical Research in Germany: From Lilienthal Until Today - Ernst Heinrich Hirschel, Horst Prem, Gero Madelung - Google Books

PS: It could also be i misunderstood it. But then u guys can correct me. thx

I recon by the time the F-22 or the more modern flankers are coming into the game, they will buff the eurofighter slightly, currently it’s getting the gripen treatment when it got nerfed a ridiculous amount of times

Not an engine expert although I thought the EJ200’s has 90kN of thrust each and not 95?

Its a mess and the all the things added last update have made it worse.
Least before we knew the MAWS system wasn’t working correctly now it’s “fixed” and it saves you from nothing.

Why even carry the additional weight if there is never a chance it is going to flare an IR missile or decoy anything?

I hate we have these systems in game and they are totally neglected on “balance” while the Su-30 can carry 14 missiles and 6 of the best ground attack munitions in the game.

“Here’s the F-22 and Su-57. To keep the Typhoon nations going. They’ve gotten some upgrades too. They now have Striker II HMDs”

“Does this give us IFF DL at long last?”

“No, but its now got a load of pretty colours”

Probably still wont have an AESA Radar I see Typhoon Tranche 3/4 becoming CR3…
No proof of anything installed no data on the Radar and the upgrades :(

This would probably imply that the EFT’s thrust curve shouldn’t be flattening out anywhere near as much as it does at high speeds in-game…

Here’s a statshark (take with grain of salt) compairison between the Su-27SM, F-16C, and EFT at 10km alt.

Spoiler

As can be seen, the Su-27SM’s thrust curve rockets up exponentially with increased mach number, while the EFT’s flattens out, following a more F-16-like curve, with the F-16’s curve actually decreasing once it hits M1.75 (the point where it drops most significantly in your chart), despite the EFT’s air supply being much closer to the Su-27’s than the F-16’s at higher mach numbers.

Also, as a sidenote, its really weird to me that gaijin makes some jets capable of ripping their wings in a straight line, while other jets are made incapable of doing so, despite them seemingly having no sources for either.

The actual thrust rating for the EJ200’s is 95kN on “war” setting, but the engines are not run in such ways currently (likely to increase engine life).

Spoiler

This setting used to be directly accessible in the cockpit, but this has since been removed iirc (which is super weird to me, but whatevs).

Dude all due respect but get the fk out here with that.

“France make the bestest bug reports”

No Gaijin have taken a shine to the Rafale and for whatever reason the Typhoon is being nerfed frequently. Based on what (Marketing lies, Or the mods don’t believe that’s possible)

Then lets not talk about the CR2 and Brimstone and how Gaijin took 6-8 months to have a working Tornado fm

Sources for Typhoon are you know what classified, for some reason your sources directly from the president of Dassault are declassified.
We don’t have that luxury, we don’t have declassified data on Typhoon.

I don’t see how the Rafale is superior to the SU-30, the Sukhoi has long range capable fox3, long rang IR missiles + TVC ir missiles, more AAM, faster radar at the moment

Declassified British MoD documents don’t exist?

Ok, bud.

Found some info earlier about EFT low speed acceleration. Unfortunately, its unlikely to be useable for a bug report according to a moderator, but assuming its accurate, the EFT is significantly underperforming in subsonic acceleration, to the point where its kind of hilarious.

In this vid, the EFT goes from M0.6 to M1.0 in roughly 15s, starting at 9400ft and in a ~11deg dive with 2x SRAAM’s onboard, starts at 5:29 and ends at 5:44.

I tested it in-game (vid too large to send or put on streamables):

  • At 78% throttle (matching the cockpit indication below the HUD at 94, assuming said gauges are modelled accurately in-game), it takes roughly 30sec to go from M0.6 to M1.0 in a ~12.5deg dive with min fuel.
  • At 94% throttle (assuming the cockpit indicators I was referring to are supposed to represent throttle percentage and the in-game ones are borked) it takes roughly 23 sec to go from M0.6-1.0 in a ~12.5deg dive with min fuel.

At worse, this would imply the Typhoon’s subsonic acceleration is less than half what it should be.

Unfortunately, like I said, this probs won’t lead to a bug report, but its an interesting bit of insight on how much the EFT might be underperforming.

The problem.

We Submit sources they get dismissed as “marketing lies”

Everyone else submits sources which are extremely sketchy. Instant buffs

You obviously don’t know what freedom of information act is.
It takes months for archival requests to be processed and in a lot of cases they will not be accepted by Gaijin.

Look I get you somehow have a direct line to Dassault and Gaijin will accept anything from them be it a picture in a book and some text that says Rafale flying mach 2.0 (trust me bro)

Typhoon doesn’t have that luxury. But hey if you have time please do become a researcher and show the rest of the Typhoon community what they are doing wrong.

Interesting more like tragic the thing loaded up is fat and heavy.
