Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 1)

Declaration is not update. Declaration is initial addition as a track. The reason it needs three scans is because that’s how TWS works.

Scan 1: detection
Scan 2: velocity confirmation
Scan 3: for safety, I suppose.

Declaration is used here in the definition it would be in e.g programming.

Radars in TWS do the exact same thing as modelled in game right now.

You are not wrong, but you are wrong in your thinking.

Declaration is indeed and target update. However the original declaration indeed takes 6s, in order to, as you yourself said, to make sure the target is not a clutter. Once algorythm is sure that the target is there, it is not going to start the whole procedure again, or at least not in the same way. It will display it as a target, and it will keep checking if it is still there, but its not going to wait 6s to put anoter update to the pilot.

If it is already declared as a target, it will continue to update it, while constantly checking data around it. It is not going to keep it in the dark, as it is already declared as a possible target that passed the inital clutter check, so it will be treated as something that can be dangerous.

As I said that’s not the case it takes 3-4 scans to initially form the track then the track get’s updated with each subsequent scan.

You can literally see targets getting updated every 1-2 seconds on the IRST output:

They have nothing to complain about the Rafale keeps getting buffed

Man has a hate boner for the EFT.

Around 2 hours 10 minutes

I mean man, with the amount of times the rafale thread turns into an Euro discussion, it’s only fair this is happening

This is search volume not FOV, the fov you present is broadly accurate based on photo’s of the FLIR. Except the fov is scanned over a wide area, in search or TWS forms. I don’t get what you want here.

It’s amazing how fans of the Eurofighter and Rafale live in each other’s heads rent free. Quite childish really

It is quite funny the lengths some players are going to try and nerf the Typhoons further, especially given that in some regards, they are woefully crippled already (things like BOL, Radar performance, A2G, etc)

@Flame2512 is the ITR and STR of typhoon still underperforming as you was the one who reported it 3 months ago. Wondering if gaijin ever rectified it.

Yes they are. I believe a report is in the works.

Don’t know if people had already seem it, but for your viewing pleasure:

Typhoon (BFM) instructor of the Luftwaffe.

The short and sweet is:

  1. F-16 only advantage is being able to lose speed faster than the typhoon, only hope is to get an overshoot.
  2. Eurofighters don’t really do falling leaf like other jets because of its power and it still can manoeuvre even at super slow speed
  3. Gripen-c is for statpadding
  4. While starting in defensive, the eurofighter can get behind an attacking F-15E (presumably with conformal tanks) in one circle before said F-15E can complete one.

I dont know what Gaijin are playing at. I feel for the tech and mods trying to justify these changes.
They have absolutely hamstrung the Typhoon so much so.

German mains will be clamouring for the AMK kit and we will need a Tranche 3/4 with an AESA Radar
To have any hope.

Instead of just having a working Typhoon that all users love and have nothing to complain about!

Have to wait until they add a premium Qatari/Saudi/Turkish, Spanish and a Austrian Typhoon before they decide to fix it.

Damn its still underperforming significantly to the weaker engined prototype then

The Ammo F-22 pilot also commented on how crazy powerful the Typhoons thrust is and he came from F-22s!

The only jets in the world that can dine at Typhoons table in raw kinematics are the Gen 5s

In case some of you were wondering, the Chinese community has begun to call the Rafale a “6th generation fighter” after the buffs that it has received this update, lol.

I do agree that the Rafale’s performance seems a little suspect… Especially in comparison to the EFT now.

Ha ha excellent!

And they still want MICA buffs.

It’s strange that no one has said this yet… Then I will. MARKETING LIE. ALL THE GOOD THINGS ABOUT TYPHOON ARE MARKETING LIES.

I think the endearment they give towards the Typhoon does not put it in the same class as the F-22. It’s also stated that the F-22 beats the F-15 through the sound barrier (which the Typhoon roughly matches)… Without the afterburner.

Of course, these are all just pilot statements.
