Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

Clips are great and can be linked or attached in the report. Just please remeber the replay file and clog.

Report is up. Didnt take long to get a match where it occured, actually happened twice in 15 seconds

Remember, CAPTOR is a marketing lie. In reality, the RAF, Luftwaffe, and RAI fly using Mk.0 eyeball. (There is insufficient data on it.)

Being in test flight, if you can get this to occur regularly. then definetly submit a bug report for it

Added the clip links to it, thanks @JFIESTASR

Strictly speaking, its a different issue that probably needs a different report. My report is on TWS just being an unrealible mode to try and use.

But the issue highlighed in JFIESTASR’s clip probably needs a seperate report for HMD/ACM not being able to acquire a target

To me it looks like the mig-15 was basically in a notch. You can just switch to ir, lock, switch to pd then launch

Yeah, its very possible. Though why the ACM mode on the Typhoon isnt auto swapping out of PD like it should to acquire the target may in itself require a report.

At least im fairly certain that is a feature that is still in-game. Still miffed it was remove from the F3

By the way, am I the only one who noticed these strange jerks along the yaw axis during turns? (in ARB)

The steam screenshot from that report is just hilarious.

The red circle is roughly where the F-18 is in that image (the fireball just behind my tail)

The radar is looking in the correct bit of space.

The Radar screen and the game overlay shows the contact flying in the opposite direction , outside the scan area and no where near where it should be. Its one thing in ARB where I can use my Mk1 eyeball to see the radar has screwed up, but if I had been in SB? or the target was obscured by clouds? Id have wasted a missile.

This is the main reason why Im not playing SB in the EFT. I cannot trust the radar even when it does find the target

Ground battles is the same, you use the RWR and IRST to find targets more than the Radar which just lets you down.

Would love the IRST system to have some kind of “IFF” sadly do not know enough about the systems.

To be fair, it’s not all that bad. But as an SB player, I really miss the radar elevation profile MFD’s and EEGS. Overall, IRST and 9M allow you to feel comfortable at ground level, and 120C-5, although barely, still outperforms 120B at longer distances (I think I had a Su-30SM kill from 35 or about 40 km at 5- or 6000 m in one of the last sessions… )

Also @Gunjob

Should we be trusting the LSZ on the Aim-120C5s, because I dont feel this is right

With the LSZ being bigger than the max range

I just find in those kinds duels with the Su-30SM, they just shoot down the AMRAAM

I would say yes as 120C has increased battery capacity for longer guidance duration, but rMax is rMax haha you can’t have a NEZ greater than rMax or rMax isn’t rMax anymore haha. (I said rMax way to many times here… rMaxrMaxrMaxrMaxrMaxrMax).

I take a look and chat to some folk.

Do you want me to DM over the gamelog and Sreenshot?

Can’t hurt, fire away.

Not very often, but yes. In any case, it’s a lottery, and being on the Su-30 myself, I prefer traditional BVR maneuvers .

It seems to occur most often against targets also climbing, so I wonder if its struggling with high alts and lofting

But this is even funnier:

Spoiler

Though this is probably cleaner given its not a missile and thus much slower closure rate

Spoiler

Hey best gun fighter in the game now shoot down their missiles and kill them in a gentlemanly 1 v 1 duel…
