Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

The footage is real, but it was initially reported as an F35, not a eurofighter.

alr let me remove it

Well I went back and did a little searching, there are some news outlets reporting it as a eurofighter, and the Ministry of Defence on X also reported it as such as being shot down by a Eurofighter.

However the video feed is definitely not from a eurofighter and is the same quality and aspect ratio as another other video released from a week ago. Which showed a similar drone kill but from a different aspect the footage is likely from a recon drone that is tracking/filming the target.

That was reported as being shot down by an F35.

Is there any fix for the slow speed slipping and drifting in sight?

Slow speed? It handles better at slow speed than at high speed, especially when flying curves as the instructor can’t handle the slow rollrate and lets the EF fly like a bobsled (gaining height which you sometimes really don’t want when flying low to avoid missiles behind terrain).
For comparison: The handling of the F/A-18 feels really snappy, direct and precise while the handling of the EF feels spongy, indirect and unprecise for me (especially in diagonal and not 2D movements).

I crashed today because Eurofighter started wobbling, slipping, sliding in a sustained turn above terrain.

More akin to a ME 210 than a Eurofighter really.

yeah, it has some exaggerated instability / lack of authority in the yaw axis doesnt it?

It’s why i consistently prefer the J-10/JAS39 flight models to fly, that yaw really irks me

Apparently according to those who’ve played the Typhoon in sim it might just be an Instructor issue, but it just seems too exaggurated to be solely instructor related

I’ve wanted to report it, but i can’t seem to get anything that isn’t just “Fix your Instructor Gaijin”, which obviously won’t pass

Oh in sim it’s perfectly fine and rudder authority is pretty good, especially with a slight bank.

As for control, even without SAS you can get down to 250km/h and still point the nose where you want, rudder doesn’t ever move. Absolutely 0 control issue.

The problem is the instructors overuse of rudder

Is it also the instructor who build, installed and programmed the radar on the non AESA Eurofighters?^^
That thing still is potato.

If WW2 night fighter radars had more range they would be a competitive choice.

If the AoA limiter can be disabled, then we also need a setting to make it even stronger, right? I think the Eurofighter is probably stronger in most cases when restricted to 9G. Right now, energy management is almost impossible, and it feels like the F-15 has a better average speed in basically everything except for BVR at the start of the match.

Actually hate dogfighting or merging when flying the Typhoon. You lose so much energy turning, basically falling out of the sky.

Eh this is kinda a problem for all top tier planes. They turn really hard for a little bit and then become MiG-21s. But they still have good lowspeed turn.

I have gotten so many manuveur kills at top tier by just stall fighting low

Is spear coming too?

Ooooooh

It’s a US stormbreaker

Still hopefully might happen some day. Quantity of FnF is no longer an issue as seen on the Gripen E.

New Pantsir is a hard counter for large number of FnF

So maybe some day we’ll see Spear-3 or Spear-Glide

please spear 3 i pray

I’d take FnF Brimstone 1s at the moment

id take anything over the spice and SAL brimstones there not incredible
