I sometimes even get “SMALL” targets (probably chaff) shown in the dozens in TWS which shouldn’t be shown at all.
It is yep, sometimes you see literal columns of them which is silly.
A curse of having a radar capable of counting each strand of ass hair 100 miles away in a game about cave tech.
Don’t think it has anything to do with that. More like it’s detecting stuff it shouldn’t detect as chaff has virtually no doppler return but TWS is using doppler return.
Aren’t those things like GBU-39?
It’s likely that modern TWS can detect falling chaff but can filter it.
The issue with this game is that there’s no filtering available
AFAIK, those would be usually displayed as “BOMB” by NCTR.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bomb NCTR
It’s really rare but I could swear I’ve seen it on some occasions.
The “SMALL” targets I’m talking about are invisible to the naked eye (I flew to some to find out what they were). You just fly past them and there’s nothing except air while they’re effectively standing in the air or slowly falling (like chaff). Or ghost targets are now detected and identified via NCTR :D
Anyway, as chaff should have a large RCS (larger than the plane carrying them) it’s curious that they’re displayed as “SMALL”.
Hmm… I always just assumed they were glide munitions. Interesting
there is no “bomb” in the NCTR list

Welp, so my memory is playing tricks on me.
It’s bombs being dropped by F-15s or Sukhois.
Sooooo idk if anyone’s seen this but BAEs proposal for a Eurofighter Typhoon Naval variant for India in 2011.

typhoons with cfts look so bad
Thrust vectoring is cool though.
EJ230s already exist, just no one uses them. Was even a proposal for Gripen E to get them.
Technically already has one iirc.
Yeah, that is needed.
Intestesting
Also catapult from front nose gear or fuselage
