Another Leonardo product, but the basis for AESA fighter radar technology in Europe is AMSAR, (this is not true for naval applications), and that would then yield into CAESAR, which would then inform ECRS MK.0, Raven and ECRS MK.2 all of which are Leonardo products.
Remember most Gripen subsystems are of British origin, or tied to their Eurofighter equivalents.
Hopefully they are adding more new weapons because currently it’s still 326,000 RP for all mods on the ECRS Typhoons instead of 311,000 for the CAPTOR-M Typhoons. So really you have to grind more RP for the exact same mods even though there are fewer of them in total.
e.g. 9,000 RP for Litening III on the FGR.4, 11,000 RP for it on the FGR.4 ECRS, AIM-120C: 20,000 → 21,000 RP, etc.
RP multipliers are slightly more generous for the AESA Typhoons, but only 2.34% better in real terms, while mods are between 5 and 22% more expensive as things stand.
I mean what else do they want in terms of sources? We are reaching classified territory and if you are not sure just make it balanced and give everyone the same stuff…
Considering they seem so determined to balance all the weaponry on the Typhoons it seems odd that they refuse to balance their other capabilities
I’d personally rather each nation only received the equipment and weaponry they have used/will use in service with each respective nation but it doesn’t look that thats a possibility anymore.
If the Meteor AAM is to be implemented, think it could be mounted on the TMC? If the AMRAAM is not a problem, it seems like it would be compatible with the Meteor as well?
