ECRS radars are now tied for fastest top tier airborne radars in-game (with the newly added ES-05 Raven from the Gripen E, which copy pasted all of the ECRS Mk2’s scan patterns), but remain at less than half the scan speed they should have (244.93°/s vs 560°/s minimum according to sources)
Except it makes literally 0 sense, as the narrow, medium and wide scan patterns are all within E-scan limits. Only the “full” scan would require mechanical motion.

Sure, but they didn’t give it two speeds in this instance.
Even ECRS Mk1 with the smaller FoR* is leagues ahead of the other AESA and PESA options I see.

Well that’s kinda the question right now, did they average it because of a misunderstanding or did they just decide not to add the full scan speed? It feels weird to average out the values when there’s just no need to at all.
I say “average”, it’s not really an average. 245 between 190 and 560 is unfortunately very much on the lower end of the values they could have picked. An average would be like 380.

god I cant wait for this radar on live, just did a match on live where the CAPTOR-M was completely failing to locate the last guy, I knew roughly where they were but no matter what I did, radar couldnt find them. So switch to IRST SRC, found them quickly (weren’t notching) and was able to engage and kill them from above.
The number of times CAPTOR-M is just… blind is annoying and thats the bit i cant wait to finally be resolved

Seems so wierd/dumb that its been this long and still not added to the Gr7, GR4 and FGR4
Yeah, the model has just been sat there for over a year now. Since the Firebirds dev server in November 2024.
In that time it’s only ever been used as a Paveway IV placeholder, then seemingly banished after being reported as the wrong model.
Yeah, its wierd. if there is some Licensing issue then I dont get why they havent just slapped GBU-48s on everything in the meantime

Probably not, not until we start getting things like EGBU-24s and co at least. even then… im not sure
