Should be with available sources, but gaijij has a way of just calling sources lies when they dont like what the source says, so its in the gods hands at the end of the day.
IF gaijin goes with the bare minimum from the sources, the CAPTOR-E should be a touch over 4.5x faster scanning than the RBE2-AA and APG-63(v)3, the current best radars in-game, but have ±100° (±90° for the german one) gimbal limits vs ±70° of the other AESA’s. Last is just the question of the scan zones.
Mk0 also gets ±100°, as does the ES-05 Raven. Hensoldt just shot us in thr foot and theres nothing we can do about it.
It genuinly makes no sense for the Mk1 to be ±90°, since they use many of the same components, so my theory is still that thats just the “full power” zone, but gaijins gonna choose the lowest number possible when they have the option, just like they did with the IRIS-T nerf.
ES-05 is basically a rebranded Mk2 haha, as for Mk0 yeah has the same repositioner but with the old CAPTOR-M backend so non of the combined A2A, A2G and E-war functions.
The repositioner itself doesnt really matter so much as the angle of the antenna does. ±90° implies either the radar is tilted 10° less (which would be very odd) or the beam isnt being pushed to the same limits as on the other ECRS’ (also very odd)
Btw, do we actually have a source stating the ECRS mk0/2 being ±100°? I know we have the pic of the extra lower range zones being beyond 90°, but the PDF for the ECRS mk2 doesnt have any specific numbers?
With some luck, gaijin will take pity on the german players and give them the same FoR based on the same logic I mentionned 🥲 (they wont, the TT is dead and has been for a long time. Not worth playing for anyone only interested in air battles)
