Do you know of a way to set it up so that it uses the in-game skins but the user-skin cockpit?
Not directly, custom cockpits, custom weapons and the likes only work for user skins since you need to modify the BLK file. If you want to use the standard skin you can click create a template and use that or if it’s an extra skin you would need to find it on WT Live.

Is the file extension of the BLK .blk? I think it might be saved with .txt by the look of it.
Yep, the skin works (externally) but the cockpit is the default cockpit
Press the refresh userskin button and see if it works then.
If not unzip the download to the userskin area and see if it works without modifying it. If it does work remove the cockpit_body file and both lines in the BLK and see if that works then.
I tried that ,even a game restart.
As for the cockpit just on its own. I could only get it work intact, removing the body file seems to prevent it from working

Put this into the userskin folder and see if it works, it should as I just tested it on mine.

Now just copy those files and the text from the BLK into the skin you want and it should work fine now.
I can’t for the life of me see why it wasn’t working with your files, but glad it’s working now.

To be more specific, the TMC while theoretically able to mount AMRAAMs (via MFRL) may not be able to handle the additional weight. The typhoon can mount paveways on that pylon so I doubt the wing is the concern.
I thought the reason was that there was no evidence the EFT’s stores management system could handle more than 6x BVRAAM’s and 10x AAM’s total atm?
Idk weight was the reason I was given. I suspect that’s also a reason as there is no evidence the stores management system can handle more than its current stores.
