if you got a radar lock, it will shoot via datalink even if its off the boresite
you can launch outside gimbal limits, like I do here in the Su-30

Probably give it to the 120C and AAM 4 maybe the PL-12 (PL-12 needs a buff) leaving the 120 A and B in the cold.
… Why would they give it to those missiles? From what I remember aim-120c still has 60 degree lemit, not sure about pl-12 and aam4. Why should they get no gimbal limits?
I’ve been able to utilize this in a match with the Su-30, pretty neat, especially since given the FM of the Su-30 you always wanna start cranking a bit earlier than usual (to effectively turn cold or notch in closer ranges).
Got some nice kills out of missiles lauched almost while notching.
its not the gimble limit though it’s data link. The Radar is saying the target is there and the missiles are pulling sufficient G to hit the target. AAM 4 pulls more G than a 120B and PL-12 should be an Aim120C equivalent.
Which is something Typhoon can’t do, it can’t sit in the notch and send missiles :(

The Su-30 can’t sit in a notch either, but you have a small window of launch opportunity while turning cold, then radar loses the target and no more launch.

You are pretty much in the notch like the Rafale the missile and Radar are far more capable.
So while you may leave the notch to fire a missile you leave it by a small amount compared to an AMRAAM.
The R-Darter ones can…Just a shame those missiles have a 5km range ha ha
Still cant believe they didnt add a Gripen NG…Yes the cockpit would have taken time to change but for gameplay purposes more power, more hardpoints and a better Radar would have been a massive boon

Not R-77 that Russian main love to claim.
I know it’s so bad, to miss the glory days of Gripens slinging 9ms and instead have to compete with Mirage 2000s with MICAS and F-15 Amraam spam was a bad time.

It was independently reported for the MICA and R77-1. I guess reports are needed for each and every missile to get this. However, seeing the SLAAMRAM, this should be possible for the 120C, but would need a report (that’s using the VL that this was reported for MICA)
