It’s ±45 degrees if I remember right. Only rafale and maybe sufa maws is full sphere
Any source?
this is Gayjin made up or this is how Praetorian DASS actually works?
I beleive exact angles are unknown, but is currently set according to a best guess
Just the RWR not the MAWS. Different sensors
How does the Dass/RWR relation work ?
DASS is the entire defensive suite. So ECM, CM/TRD, MAWS, RWR, LWR, etc etc
RWR just handles detecting radar emissions, which is fed into the DASS
But when I test in test drive, the RWR not works like sphere. It can’t detect missile from below. Even they are already labeled this as fixed.
and the RWR is full 360°, its juts the MAW which isnt 360°, you are mixing these 2
What missile?
Unless its ARH guided, the RWR wouldnt detect the missile coming from below.
If its SARH/Beam riding and the launcher has radar lock, it would detect the vehicle, but not the missile.
If its guided via laser on IRST, then only the FGR4 would detect it with its LWR (though cant remember if the LWR is spherical)
MAWS is not spherical, RWR is
Aaaaa… okay, my bad, finally I understand.
edit: do we know if the LWS can pinpoint the angle? at the moment it looks like its just based on which sensor(s) detect the lase
I think that is correct or its an unknown detail. Best ask Gunjob or Flame though
It’s not a guess as much as the ±45 is just the default value for any MAW unless they get a specific source saying otherwise.
could it be that the gun lead marker is still bugged in the HUD?
Yeah still bugged after 8 months of the report being accepted and nearly 10 months of the Typhoon being added.
this reminds me of how it took them about a year to add the tornado radar lock symbology
Was more like 18 months
