Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

Is that the TMC or two separate sidewinder rails like on the tornado? Or is that the TMC

Pass?

It’s LAU-115 with dual LAU-127, on an Aussie F/A-18A

You’d be suprised.

Physically, there’s a point where a non TVC, fast missile, can’t compete against slower, TVC missiles with the same G pull. Having insane turn rate at below like 700kph is never going to be the ASRAAM strength, even with its tail fin design. This will go to the likes of the IRIS-T, Aim9x, and potentially MICA to a certain degree.
I would guess the ASRAAM will excel at what the MICA currently dominates, that is 3 to 15km shots, high off bore, plus the fact that multi path won’t be an issue anymore

Could also toss them at absurd hilarious ranges. ASRAAM jumpscare.

It’ll be harder for them to argue that, ASRAAM using tail control is a hard piece of evidence that gives it very high agility and control authority.

Seriously, even little tiny tailerons (imagine something about 2.5cm by 3cm on 30cm² fixed fins) on an amateur rocket that only hits mach 1.3 can make it flip out of control easily. Full moving tailfins with a lifting body and higher speed hitting 50G should be fairly easy.

The other benefit is it’s incredibly stable, cleared to 45 alpha launches.

The engineering done ☑️ n modern missile tech is amazing. Getting these AOA values with a rocket that could see its center of mass move with huge amplitude and yet they somehow don’t spin out

We really need this, it’s very useful

What is that?

Is the Energy Cue Symbology

Anyone else noticed that the engine spool time on the EF is 2-3 business days? It’s making it rather difficult to have full power output in a dogfight as whenever I pull off the throttle i’d need full AB for 5-10 seconds straight to get back.

That’s how the Aussies do it

Btw, this can be reported. Didn’t know that until I saw a f14 report to nerf it being passed. One was made for the rafale as well iirc. I believe base spool up from idle to fill AB is line around 6s by default, it’s likely that many planes are underperforming in that aspect

Anyone know why the L3 pod on the EF comes up as a “radar”, and when destroyed changes absolutely nothing? the pod still works normally and can designate fine?

Also, after some thinking and on an unrelated note, I feel like reduced IOG drift alone could heavily increase the brimstone’s utility. At least you could use them as angry rocket powered pseudo-GBU-39s.

I think radar is just basically placeholder text for “sensor”

There is a internal report in for massively reducing their drift but won’t be GBU-39 levels of accuracy and would need a DH to do anything. Which is why I’d rather like spear-3s which have GPS as a GBU39 equivalent

In gaijin’s eyes this would make them too op.

While everyone else gets F&F munition our EFT’s stuck with first generation laser guided Brimstones.

Even Brimstone 2 would make our job much easier, I don’t understand why Gaijin is so stubborn to not to change current Brimstone’s.

Especially when more advanced aa systems are on the way.

Yeah… Especially given the typhoon never used brimstone 1. But a spammable.GPS weapon would be nice too
