Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

Because it out accelerates the target while at max gimble which causes it to fail to correctly calculate inertia.

This isn’t a missile issue, your shot was just bad sorry mate.

The behavior also happens on other occasions and the turn direction of the missile is random at best.
See my report and its attached video: Community Bug Reporting System
It should at least keep the same movement in a plane even if it overshoots the target and not go haywire into a random direction.

In the case of @joshje100 it just turns away to the right, in my case it turns downward into the ground even though it was tracking completly fine in the beginning (and still showed TRK until shortly before smashing into the ground).
And my shot wasn’t max gimbal but straight ahead even though it had to maneuver quite strong while reaching max gimbal during the flight. Something seems utterly wrong if a shot causes the missile seeker to reach max gimbal (no matter if at the beginning or during the flight). Even if it would have to switch to IOG the IOG seems to give incorrect movement data in these cases I would assume.

So?

  • Typhoon Overhaul with ASRAAMs and MMW Brimstones
  • ECM
  • Harrier Overhauls
  • CBUs
  • Chally 2 Overhaul
  • Ajax
  • BOL overhaul

Would be a good update.

You lost gaijin at overhaul.

In Gaijins dictionary I think that means nerf

They DID say all nations would have AESA equipped aircraft by the end of the year so…. Captor-E Typhoon possibly?

they said prior to 5th gens and 5th gens wont be till latter half of next year at the earliest

But that being said. Yes only sensible option is the Typhoon and I cant think of any reason not to do it sooner rather than later.

So like the same eurofighter we have…but with an AESA?

I see 3 options

  1. Add AESA to the current Typhoon in-game with no immediate change, but eventual BR increase when appropriate with everything else appropriate.

  2. Add T1 Typhoon to “replace” the current Typhoon, add AESA to the current Typhoon and move it up

I could see this also being done when ASRAAM/IRIS-T is added so that we are left still with a 9M + 120B airframe

  1. Add T3+ Typhoon with AESA and to get all of the future upgrades (The current though would still get those appropriate still for it)

Im not sure which Id prefer, but honestly. I dont really mind at this point, all have pros and cons. But a T3+ we could make really really strong arguments for things like Striker II, Spear-3, AMK, etc etc

Gaijin be like…

That is precisely Gaijin at the moment

Is AMK even plausible for implementation? I don’t know too much about AMK test subjects but would this be similar to the category of test vehicles such as like the F15 STOL/MTD?

I think we could easily get AESA as a mod (for like 50~100k rp) for the current typhoon and then move it up. It would fare fine with the M-scan and then we wouldn’t need to bloat the tt with 3 or 4 Eurofighters.

I dont see why not, wont be straight away, but sooner rather than later yes.

I dont mind having 3x Typhoons, so long as there was significant and meaningful differences between them and with at least 0.7 BR between them. but otherwise no point them being the same BR.

As for AESA as a mod… Maybe, but it would be a first

Currently testing and planned for the Tranche 5 integration. So it would be a thing which makes it into production and not just testing like the STOL/MTD modification.
