Tornado F3s got Aim-120C5s sometime in the early 2000s (I think sometime between 2003 and 2006) and FGR4 entered service in 2008.
So assuming Aim-120C5s werent acquired for the Typhoon any earlier than the Tornado (And I genunely dont know) then it would make sense to give the Typhoon the best possible AMRAAM which means it likely got them sometime between 2003 and 2006 I think. So only 3 years max where Aim-120Bs might have been used.
But by the time of the FGR4. Aim-120C5s were probably the standard and Aim-120Bs were just old stock if they were used operationally at all.
Yeah, kinda wish Typhoon would got it too so it would push the BR for another decompression, but, with these kind of treatment, there’s a very low chance of Air RB get another decompression, maybe up to Winter Update, and worse, still no fixes for Typhoon again.
Gaijin believe YouTube and reddit that Typhoon is great so it doesn’t need anymore help.
They should have just remodelled Captor to work like the Su-34 PESA Radar and the player base would have been happy.
My biggest gripe for Typhoon only its Supercruise capabilities and the radar, if it’s a 13.7 I understand, even for Mechanical PD Radar it’s bad compared to better Mechanical PD Radar like F-15C/E for example.
I do hate how it flops around at high altitude too, I don’t understand why turning high up makes the aircraft feel like it’s on water. You would expect thinner air for it to cut through.
Super cruise of a max 1.3 at 35kft is also nonsense
Would be nice if they did. But currently we have 2 AESAs in game, Rafale and Kfir C.10, and soon the F-2. PESA is found on SU-30SM and SU-34. Everything else is still mechanical. Not sure about the J-11B tbh
