could be so
anyways we have to be prepared for upcoming EF-2000s
bug reports, skin suggestions, etc.
tbh i dont entirely see the point of adding a T2…
Phase 3 Enhancement (P3E), which is applied to both Tranche 2 and Tranche 3 aircraft.
Were the ITA/BRI Typhoons the only ones to use Pirate IRST?
Been looking through photos of German ones, and could only find 1 photo with the newest Typhoon from Germany having it.
If it doesn’t have Pirate IRST, would it have another form or none at all?
German Typhoons likely wont have IRST at all
massive F
I don’t think any of them would have pirate IRST for now though but could be wrong soon
For sure not on these early ones. But for the future I know not to get my hopes up!
If they module these afterburners nicely I’ll be happy
it depends on gajin.
germany keeps the right to equip them at any point if required and we have them equipped on testing vehicles etc
@Morvran and you know about those xD it realy only depends on gajin which they implement
no german fighters will probably ever have it. TPOD in IRST/FLIR mode is better nowadays
Does T1 have access to Paveway 4s?
Are they sure about that, the US has actively pursued a dedicated IRST/FLIR pod based on the exact same operating principles as PIRATE whilst also having exceptionally capable TPOD’s?
A TPOD is definitely more versatile as PIRATE can only queue self-designating A2G munitions but I don’t really see why the US would pursue an IRST/FLIR for A2A purposes when their own TPOD’s can fullfill such a role (and have been doing so).
You seemed to have suggested to have a little bit of insider conversation on the topic so I am genuinely curious.
Only Paveway II and Enhanced Paveway II.
But in War Thunder terms being able to use 1000lb EPWs instead of 500lb PWIVs, doesn’t seem like a problem to me.
litening G4 (upgraded III) is just a much newer system. newer sensor, newer tech, etc. PIRATE in comparison it just outdated.
a modern dedicated IRST could maybe still ouperform it but looking at the F-35s, the trend is really a fully integrated system…
but tbh i dont know what the US is doing here with those external pods. maybe they feel like they need those on some platforms…
ASRAAM can be used as a IRST to from what I recall
thats gotta have horrendous performance
The Magic 2 also has auto search features.
Wouldnt the TPODs in those modes perform significantly because depending on it they are akwardly placed on the plane?
The dedicated internal ones are allnplaced pretty much on the nose for a reason arent they?
it cant look up like in a dogfight but the tpod sticks out quite far from the fuselage and is angled slightly down so it can look up enough at longer distances
