Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 1)

I was talking about GBU39.

The closest we can get to GBU-39 is SPEAR 3. But that is more of a Brimstone with wings and a jet engine. And also not in service yet.

just remove him from these topics please.

currently integrated are just paveways, stormshadows and brimstones. gbu-54 is being integrated right now (and so is taurus) and maybe, just maybe, spear-3. but thats supposed to be an f-35 weapon and it seems like they’re mostly using eurofighter for testing. AGM-88E-2 is also being integrated

this is what happens when they’re mostly deployed in anti terrorism operations. dont need glide bombs or a lot of paveways for that

Was hosbo or hope ever tested , dont quite remember if it was only tornados or typhoon as well

The HOPE/HOSBO wiki page states both as platforms yes

pretty sure it was only HOPE that was tested and on Tornado, not Eurofighter.

But we get into the realms of “technicaly possibility” again due to NATO standardisation

hey guys , can typhoon f.mk.2 carry GBU ? It’s coming soon

No

so tranche 1 block 5 with GBU(uk ) is witch version?

Going by this thread and from what I understand from the Typhoons entry into service (From books like Typhoon by Mike Sutton)

The Typhoon was intially brought into service for the A2A role to replace the Tornado F3s as a priority, but the Harrier Gr7/9 and Tornado Gr4 had A2G pretty readily covered so it was considered a secondary priority. Also up to that point, pilots were trained for fightrers or mud movers. The Typhoon required them to be trained for both and the book literally had to be written on how to employ the Typhoon in both roles

So for a number of years they were A2A only. By 2008 they were upgraded to the FGR4 with the A2G loadout and first delivered A2G weapons in anger in 2011 in Libya during Operation Ellamy.

So from 2003 to 2008, they were the F2 and were only really performing QRA

P.S, hope we get our BL755s though, or at the very least, an equal wieght unguided bomb, will make stock grind much easier.

NO ,i thank if tranche1 is must ,we should ask for ipa5

I think this is just one bullet we must bare. At least it hopefully gives more time for the Brimstones to be sorted. That way we have FGR4 with mmV birmstones and not SAL only.

Honestly half of me wants us to wait out on the FGR.4. The F.2 is a natural progression from the Tornado F.3 AOP/FSP, and it is superior in practically every sense of the word.

F.2 - AIM-120C-5, ASRAAM Blk.1
FGR.4 - Meteor, ASRAAM Blk.6, + standoff A/G

Good news. There is now a more recent source quoting a significantly higher radar range. This is from a 1999 presentation by Eurofighter GmbH.

This might be the thread to ask in, given apparently EFT has BOL (?) dispensers, but what type of countermeasure is BOL? Trying to respond to someone in the Rafale thread, but I am far too asleep to remember equivalents to it, from Russia or the West. Can’t find the other threads unfortunately, and BOL might get unfucked if it is Integral to EFT. I would note I am very asleep and may not have read how EFT’s CMs are accurately. Sorry if my reading has ended up skewiff.

Thanks, hopefully I can find equivalents to respond to them with.
